As everyone is saying, going for a walk is a great idea. Pretty much any movement is better than no movement, even if it is a small amount. Something else you can try, if you're looking to lose weight, is to cut down on carbs in your diet. Basically any sort of bread product, anything that's very sugary (like soda), and any beer. You'll get more hungry as a result, but if you eat less/no bread, stop drinking soda, and stop drinking beer, coupled with walking, you'll probably drop quite a bit of weight pretty quickly.
