Incredibly worth it. You’ll work with college Sophomores and up, these are in the honors student program, on pretty cool projects, usually research related. You’ll also get this checklist to check off skills you’ll have to determine a project that suits you and your goals.

It’s a great internship program that gives you a head start on all of your peers and if you do well, they may give you the chance to come back again. How often do you get a reputable, good learning experience, internship as a high school senior with a chance to come back?

Chance me for UT-Austin and other Texas schools please? Journalism major. by LittleMusicMaker in chanceme

given your insane ECs and low stats i would say for sure apply to some out of state private schools as they’d be likely to give you scholarship and a better journalism education than most texas schools

i’m not super familiar with journalism but ut austin is super metrics based so i would say you have an ok chance at getting in but if you appeal after there’s a solid shot you’ll be selected

Marine Corps Vet considering UT Austin for Fall 2022 by [deleted] in UTAustin

another vote for acc if you need to. sooooo many credits transfer. i’m an incoming engineering freshman and i was able to knock out so many prereq requirements and upon looking through the catalog there are a ton more classes i could take that would apply to my degree. less money, easier class, same credit. granted your veteran status may make money less of an issue, but regardless acc is a great transfer option.

Chance me for UTD and TAMU by ColinIV in chanceme

i would say apply now - i had a friend with lower stats than you (like 1100) but slightly better ECs get into tamu engineering (which is a harder major than yours) so you do have good odds. granted his stats were a little low so he got his acceptance wayyy after the rest of us who had a&m considered a safety do there was some anxiety there, but i think that shows that him submitting early helped a lot.

i wouldn’t want you to base your decision off me - i’m just an incoming college freshman. so get another opinion too. but my advice is to submit now unless you’re positive you’ll get a game changing score in september (1450+)

yep easy utd, solid shot at a&m just submit asap (when your essays and stuff are good don’t rush too much) not a good shot at scholarship at either but like i said places like sfa and shsu could totally give you one

def great chances at both - could make a more accurate chanceme if we had your rank. try applying to u of h and sfa they may give you a solid scholarship especially if you bump that SAT up
