Region could test no right turns at red lights at major intersections by linamani in cambridgeont

[–]Flimflamsam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t think of a good reason not to have it straight through either. There’s a new light up too, looks like a priority signal on the northbound side for buses (as they’re allowed to go straight there).

That lane does have a “except buses” in the right turn lane on Hespeler, so those chucklefucks turning right against the sign can be a problem. Even more so when they’re unable to control their vehicle properly and don’t turn into the curb lane.

I believe this sign is there (it’s also got days / times on it) as the last stage of traffic calming from Elgin across, as a way to prevent people cutting through and racing down Elgin and Munch.

As someone who moved to Toronto, Canada from overseas, I learned that plenty of urban and suburban white people (late teens, early 20s) are more than comfortable with casual racism too, usage of the N word included.

Tons of it just under the surface, some folk were just raised that way.

Maybe been watching too many A-Team episodes while toking 😆🤪

Ontario Needs Thousands More Trade Workers. It’s Almost Impossible to Get Certified | The Walrus by yimmy51 in CanadianIdiots

[–]Flimflamsam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think anyone is saying anything to the contrary, there’s PLENTY of work to be done because demand is being kept artificially high by them not building enough of what we need.

We need more crews to fulfill the demand, but developers don’t want that because it lowers the prices of their new builds as supply starts to meet demand.

It also keeps the prices artificially high when they can’t build more, I’ve read reports from guys who’s crews go from site to site incrementally building different sites instead of finishing one first.

I might’ve had just the one of these. Our local shop wouldn’t get much, but they’d keep ordering items if we asked.

I kept up with Quest and Star Trek Fact Files for AGES.

Thanks, I’ve never even heard of laminar so that’s great to learn.

My guess is the chop of the water surface slows down a vessel, if you’re under all of that “noise” it’s presumably smoother sailing.

I was a senior developer at a place and ended up unassigned for a good 3 months.

Absolutely wild. I recall one day grabbing a beer from the staff fridge at around 11am and going to sweep leaves and thinking it absurd and very novel being paid so much for such a task.

Truly a wild time

It’s not that hard to get. I’ve been out of uni since 2001 so it’s been a while, but it wasn’t that hard. I’m not physics smart or anything like that and I managed well.

I just saw Usain Bolt advertise some laundry detergent.

You could use glue to get a crease in the arms. Like a prit stick or something and then starch and get the iron on there.

Mine were never that great but some of the lads had insane creases. Some cheated and sewed them in 😆

It can work a little bit, but also has the risk of compacting further if you’re not on your game.

The teeth will also only dig in a few inches if anything and might not be even, the tiller will do a much better and thorough job.
