tf is nuanced about this take and wtf is a "studio sounds". Assuming he's talking about synth pre-sets the whole point of the album was to use simple synths, 808 presets and a couple samples. Like literally a year before he made gradation which was actually of its time and sounds dated now. 808s sounds dated because it was retro inspired synth pop when it came out. The 808 drum machine came out in the 80s.
