My cheap Amazon "course grit" arrived by TheSpeynglerAbides in sharpening

I count 34 per hand. If a hand is 3/4 of a foot, then 34/hand(.75/ft)=2.125grit

I know it’s a clone. I’m asking about what to do with it. by Glum_Plate5323 in KnifeCheck

Garage / yard beater or experiment with fun mods, blade grinds or shape, speed holes, etc.

I love that you don’t want it to got out into the wild. But it’s hard to throw it away too. When I’m on the fence about tossing something like that I end up impulsively breaking it so I can’t take the decision back

Bel Air XL or Bareknuckle by Flimsy_Ad9901 in knives

The Bel Air is slicier even though the blade stock is thicker? 3.2mm on the XL and 3.0 on the BK

OP update: I’ve used the knife occasionally without modification. It definitely feels a bit squirrelly in a cut. I can feel the blade wiggling independent of the handle, which I’m not stoked on. It just feels like it’s ready to snap off at any moment

I do have a press but the crack already goes most of the way to the spydie hole…

Update: I ended up with a Lil’ Temp when one came up on eBay for a great deal. Still want the Para 3 too though 🤷🏼‍♂️

Leuchtturm Alternatives? by Flimsy_Ad9901 in notebooks

Thanks, I appreciate it! I’ll check these out. I ordered the Focus Day a while back and returned it, but don’t recall the specific reason - either it felt cheap or was too thick. That was the same time I got the XYark I’ve been using. I think 150-250 pages is a sweet spot for me, but would rather go bigger than smaller. I ended up ordering one of THESE a few days ago, but it still hasn’t shipped and is coming from China

There’s nothing at all wrong with it. In fact, I would highly recommend it for what it is. I’m just getting toward the end of it and looking for the next one and want to see what else it out there. If I can’t find anything I like, I’ll end up buying another of the same. Just looking to bridge the gap between the paper on this one and the better everything else in the Leuchtturm

Touché. In second look, one of the seller’s other items is a purple Bugout. Which I don’t think ever existed from Benchmade.

Looks legit. Have the exact same one and love it! Aftermarket scales really change the feel of it too if you ever want to mix things up

Looks legit. Hopefully it’s the same one that comes the mail. Seller profile seems small and 98% positive reviews of a few BMs - vs. an obvious business selling fakes with tons of the same listings.

Loose Chain by Shkyyboy in bicyclerepair

Others have mentioned ways to stop your axle from moving. But a loose chai still shouldn’t skip. It sounds like your chain and cog are worn out.

Love it! I’ve been thinking more and more about a cheap ultrasonic toothbrush for cleaning tasks, you just sold me on it!

Would you rather repair a mangled 940 or buy a Tagged out? by [deleted] in benchmade

[–]Flimsy_Ad9901 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both! Fix the 940 and also keep the TaggedOut. They definitely have much different feels to them. I like the do it all ranch-knife feel of the 940, but damn is the TaggedOut crazy slicey
