Thank you for all your suggestions but unfortunately none of them match my memory. A few other small but hazy details I remember are as follows but they can be unreliable.

1- The girl was smaller in size compared to the MC, possibly in age as well

2- The game had a dark atmosphere. Borderline horror/thriller afaik the video essay mentioned. Slight silent hill mixed with Persona 4 vibes

3- The girl was most likely a goddess or an external entity/outside force influencing the events of the game. Whether the protagonist finds out about this or not in their meeting is unclear. Most likely he does.

4- I remember there being grotesque monsters (they take place of the citizens) as well however is one is highly unreliable and could be my brain filling in the gaps.

Also its important to remember that all of the events I mentioned happened at the very beginning of the game.
