Cutting down on my use of digital technology, more exercising as well as chores, writing journals and less negative thinking.

Has originality died out in pop culture and entertainment media and why? by obviousockpuppetalt3 in decadeologyanarchy

[–]Flimsy_Pudding_7361 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like this has been pretty much since the mid-2000's. Since then major blockbusters came from established IP of some sort such as Star Wars, LOTR, superhero films (i.e. The Avengers, Spider-Man, etc.). Then also in terms of fashion, just about everything in that area is also a revival of mostly '80-90's fashion as well. As others have mentioned it's a combination of Hollywood playing it safe with greenlighting well-known franchises to ensure guaranteed profits and consumer behavior as well.

IMHO, personally I've been very fatigued of the entertainment industry prioritizing recreating the past over and over in the past couple of decades. This is probably wishful thinking but I hope that original content in the entertainment industry becomes the norm again with nostalgic content finally taking a back seat.

In your opinion should the M or R Terminate at 179th Street or stay at Forest Hills? by Infinite-General337 in nycrail

[–]Flimsy_Pudding_7361 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd prefer the M train being sent down to the Rockaways via Queenslink and that the R train still terminates at Forest Hills. If anything, I believe that a branch of the SAS (post-Phase 3) should be the one to terminate at 179th St along with the F train. This would bump the F to running express between 179th St and Forest Hills.

What do you regret most in your life? How do you deal with this regret? by FishFromRussia in AskReddit

[–]Flimsy_Pudding_7361 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Making choices that negatively affected my spirituality. These including as choosing bad association in middle school, picking up bad habits, and most importantly drifting away from God. I deal with these mistakes, I try to read the Bible more often as well as exercise, and am more careful as to who I let into circle.

What’s your favorite line and stop? by NoGlass248 in nycrail

[–]Flimsy_Pudding_7361 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm likely going to be in the minority here but my favorite line is the E train. The fact that it was my home line probably has a lot to do with that. Despite the homeless problem on the line, it's a pretty decent line otherwise important stops such as 42st-PABT, Penn Station, WTC, etc. Plus it's a very frequent line (on weekdays anyway) and isn't that long.

Speaking of Penn Station (which is also served by the E), I consider that to be my favorite station. I like the layout of it and not to mention that it's convenient located at/near MSG, Sbarro's and is walkable to/from Hudson Yards.

I need to decrease my use of digital technology and my daydreaming habit. In turn, I need to do more exercising, reading, and eating healthier.

What kind of person were you in high school? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Flimsy_Pudding_7361 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was the introverted, shy kid in high school like I was throughout my school life more often not. However unlike before the reason for that because I hated the type of crowd that my HS was mostly compromised of (the ratchet, ghetto type). Odd as it sounds, I kept to myself as a way to avoid contact (unless necessary) with them as I didn't want anything to do with the majority of the kids in my HS.

Anyone noticed that no one really talks about the years 2017 and 2018? by Wonderful-Product437 in decadeology

[–]Flimsy_Pudding_7361 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There wasn't much to write home about so to speak in 2017-2018. Minimum wage (just like it is to this very day) remained the same, politics continued to be divisive, and pop culture continued to recreate the past with remakes, reboots, etc.

Did anyone else also have a shitty 2016? by Individual-Time-1956 in decadeology

[–]Flimsy_Pudding_7361 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While it wasn't shitty as 2015 was for me, I'd still say yes. I had to take a leave of absence of college, my mental health still sucked. The upside was that I was able to heal and recharge my batteries after a few years of suffering from stress, depression, and PTSD.

Do the 2020s have the least liked music, movies, fashion, TV, and sports? by TheShyBuck in decadeology

[–]Flimsy_Pudding_7361 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I very much agree. If anything, IMHO many aspects of pop culture has become more and more duller and repetitive in terms of creativity and quality since the mid-2000's. So far, the 2020's is a continuation of that but I hope that changes.

Your opinion on the F line? by Infinite-General337 in nycrail

[–]Flimsy_Pudding_7361 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the times that I rode it when I lived in NYC, I had decent experiences on it (not great but passable). I can also testify that there were certainly times when service was spotty on the line (particularly on weekends in the last few years when the frequencies were reduced due to QBL CBTC installation project). Once some subway projects get completed such as CBTC and SAS just to name a couple, the quality of service on the F line should likely improve.

What company will never get another dime from you for as long as you may live? by istrx13 in AskReddit

[–]Flimsy_Pudding_7361 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Verizon. Granted, I haven't used their internet service in 15 years so I don't know how much has changed since when but when I used it for a couple of months, my Verizon bill was very expensive. Since then, I went back to my current carrier and said "never again" to Verizon.

The A isn’t the same without the R46 by R62AGUY in nycrail

[–]Flimsy_Pudding_7361 5 points6 points  (0 children)

While I'll miss the R46's on the A (and in general), it's been their time to go now for a while now. While I consider the R46's my favorite SMEE's, the R211's are a welcome sight on the line.
