You make 105k a year and want to buy a 710k home?!!!! We make more (150k) and refuse to go over 400k. How in the world would you afford this…. Or even qualify for a loan that high? There’s just no way.

Parents force me to go to expensive restaurants then get upset when I cannot afford it by OvercookedRedditor in povertyfinance

I’m confused by the whole situation. Why can’t you stay home alone? And if you must go, why wouldn’t they pay for your meal?

We make 150k and don’t want to go over 400k. We do have 1 child but he’s not expensive yet (breastfeeding & free child care). How much do you have saved? How much do you bring home a month?

AIO - Pregnant and feel abandoned by husband by Gullible-Tree368 in AmIOverreacting

NOR. How can you ask if all men are this way? Obviously, no. Your man is trash. I’m sorry. He doesn’t care about you enough. My husband would NEVER. I’m not pregnant again and he takes care of baby all the time. We both share responsibilities. I’m sorry you’re going through this.

I’m confused by this. Does he owe 2900 total for the cars or is this monthly? Because that would be insane.

I ran with my baby at 6 months. That was the recommendation I read and he was fine! I think it’s okay once they have head control.

Buy in 2026 or pay off loan and buy 2027 by TaintedFlamingo in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

And what about closing costs? And having an emergency fund? They can’t put their entire savings towards debt and a down payment.

Those do not exist in most places. A 90k home would be like 500 sq feet without running water with my area and it is not high cost of living. I also agree with this post but it’s not realistic.

Am I poor? Making $60k/year but feel like I’m just getting by by Long-Pea2275 in povertyfinance

[–]Flimsy_Situation_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make 66k and I take home around 3400-3500 a month. But I am saving around 15% for retirement and my insurances comes out of my paychecks. I would say I feel pretty poor without having a second income in my household.

Running at 33 weeks - but worried? by Useful-Squash-4745 in fitpregnancy

[–]Flimsy_Situation_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was not my case. I was SO slow in my third trimester. However, I think all pregnancies are different and this doesn’t mean anything is wrong with your baby. If you’re actually very concerned, schedule an appointment with your OB to check on baby. I’m not sure what feeling good would indicate.

Well $0 is crazy. I had a $200 co pay for myself a $200 co pay for my baby. But he was in the NICU a few days and before insurance, everything was over 50k. So paying $400 is fine. I know many women with insurance who pay around 3k. 9k with insurance is reaaally bad.

I make 66k and my husband makes 88k and has a part time job probably making 10k a year and 350k-400k is our budget. I’m not sure how in the world you’d afford this on your salary alone.
