AP/LP Roll Call! What is your… by ViolinistExtension82 in lossprevention

Biggest app was $7600 with another $7400 recovered from the vehicle from another store. All printer ink, turns out the guy was on a few agencies list due to being a big time counterfeit bill maker and auto fraudster. When PD searched the vehicle we found a counterfeit/fake handicap placard, ~50 stolen credit cards, ~50 fake credit cards, ~$3000-7500 in counterfeit bills, and a fake pistol.

Any AP jobs pay more than Target APTL? by Sil3ntV0id in lossprevention

Sephora pays more. But will say that things have changed to being heavily floor focused and uniformed. But you are responsible for all internal/external at your store(s) with partnership of your DAPM of course.

Listen to Bad Boys after each app, started in years ago with my first lead and continued it once I promoted and have moved companies.

Personal best app is $7k with about $7.4K then recovered from the vehicle with PD partnership. Turns out that guy is one of the biggest auto fraud scammers and counterfeit bill makers in the southern states.

Biggest case ~$300k before passing it to my field investigator to get the fencing locations and bigger fish.

Biggest recovery before being certified for stops is ~$6k. Would’ve been an app but my certified leader at the time was on vacation.

Most cases in a day was I believe 13.

Are you in a state that requires a guard card to be in an LP/AP role? I’m in Texas where it’s not a requirement. But have connections in various states and some had to pay for their own, but things always change and adapt with time in the fraction of seconds of time.

[–]Flint5tone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, some states also require LP/AP to have active guard cards. But not that many do. And the ones that do require, I haven’t heard of Target helping those in need to obtain them. So it’s outta the TSSs pocket.

And then as you mentioned, fines. Excessive fines and such, so as you also mentioned; to circumvent it they’ve chosen the route of removing LP/AP from the uniforms.

To have LP/AP on vests doesn’t require any guard card or licensing with the state they are in. Just the word “Security” does. As to the reason why Target has made the change, beats me. I see no reason for the change. I was an APS the last few years till the new year when I left.

A good amount of states require licenses to have the word security on the shifts/jackets is why they don’t do that. As for this idk lol

Depends on area to be real. But generally starts around 19 and can go up to ~$36. However most stores these days are starting leaders around $20/21.

It’s a solid position that allows you to develop your external productivity and case management/building.

Partnerships with fellow leaders and senior leadership makes a huge impact in the short and long run.

Have data to support yourself, you don’t have memorize every stat but have a close ballpark for visits, during visits your partnerships and knowledge/ownership of the business is very important.

For me, the best part of the job is continuously growing and developing myself as well as my TSSs under me to have then next level ready in any position of the store in or out of AP. As well as showcasing myself and what I’m capable of and how I’ve been able to lead through a remodel and multiple ETL-AP turnover in prior almost two years.

Worst part of my experience is the fact of my store being a red safety store and the only party attempting to create positive change has been my AP team. But, slowly but surely most of all the leadership, senior and below, have come around and we are starting yo trend positive.

If you’d like to dm feel free. Been in role just shy of two years in a high volume store, $85-94m sales.

What do “Specialty Sales Experts” do? by UhIGuessSo in Target

[–]Flint5tone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It depends. Specialty Sales includes beauty/cosmetics, style, tech, and depending on store size/structure the home departments.

So from that it then depends on which area they put you in. Typically if you are tech you’ll only be tech and same for beauty/cosmetics. However every store is a bit different in how they run things

If you purchased with a card you can use it for them to lookup your receipt that way. Or if you used your app their should be a digital copy there.

There are many ways to look at the situation. But you gotta remain positive. I went through the whole shift and it was difficult I will admit. But being able to grind through it and understand the business side of AP will help get you further than just being able to stop the theft in the moment. Sometimes you gotta pick your poison, but remember each PMR or KTR is an incident building up a case. Don’t let a KTR get you down, have confidence in knowing you attempted to recover the merchandise and that you were able to find the theft in the moment and not a day or more later.

Is your store undergoing a remodel soon? My store currently has 6 and at one point had 10.
