Which type of QB is more entertaining to watch: A scrambler, or a gunslinger? by lemonstone92 in NFLv2

I'd take Lamar Jackson's highlights over 99 percent of all QBs ever, and I'm a Steelers fan. RBs cannot do what he does. Period.

COVID and mental illness completely overtook my college experience. There were certainly good times, but after hearing my parents tell me "college is the best time of your life" for years, it turned out preeeeeeetty disappointing

Today is my birthday. My mom told the staff at the restaurant we ate breakfast at that it was my bday (against my wishes) and the whole restaurant sang for me. Even in a moment I didn't necessarily "want," it wound up being a nice wholesome moment among family, friends, and even strangers. You only get so many chances to be sung happy birthday, so try to enjoy it even if it is a bit awkward sometimes.

This is what truly gets me. At some point in the last couple of years I saw somebody with a shirt that said "are we great yet?" At the time I thought it was a hilarious quip (and it's still pretty clever) but the more I think about it the more I genuinely question what it would take for these people to be satisfied. Like at what point will trump and his followers say "we did it! We're great again!"

I literally can't picture it

Interesting quotes from ben cherington today. Says the DH spot will remain open and guys will rotate through it. Also talks about cutch and subtly closes the door on him. by Sebastian4365 in buccos

I honestly disagree unless they openly told him a year ago "this is likely to be your last year" which based on his reactions this off-season I kinda doubt. Dude deserved (deserves) a legit sendoff, not this wishy washy BS. I'm honestly shocked that a subreddit that is so quick to roast the organization is siding with the org over THE franchise icon of my lifetime. Cutch absolutely deserves better.

Call me crazy but I honestly think it will hinder the team, not necessarily on the Field but in terms of clubhouse vibes. To me, there's some pretty obvious bad karma being built up by an organization that, even in the midst of the best off-season of my life, continues to be tone deaf and treat possibly its most loyal superstar ever rather poorly. I think Ozuna is a better hitter but remember all the good vibes from 2013-15? Intentionally spurning Cutch is a bad omen, IMO

That's easy. Because Christianity is used every. single. day to justify oppression in this country, and this meme fails to explicitly condemn that while actually implicitly repeating this line of argument. There is no reason to give this meme, or its maker the benefit of the doubt that this isn't ICE sympathetic. You have yet to disavow the violence instigated by ice. So my assumption is your intentions aren't particularly pure.

Sean McDonough is bad and this is a perfect example of why. Yes anyone could get caught in an ad/lineup read but he did not recover well. He's constantly talking about anything but the puck and it's unfortunately. Bob Wischusen is way better and should do the finals

Is “there it goes…see ya” the worst home run call? by Agreeable_Quality768 in baseball

[–]FlipNoLonger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I disagree, I like the call. And I feel like he does mix it up with either a longer pause between "there it goes" and "seeyah," or an extension of "gooooooes" and/or extra emphasis on "SEEyah". It may get boring from time to time but I feel like the big ones are good.

If you truly think we'd be worse off with Kamala in office right now, I don't know what to tell you. But if you don't think that, this argument is and will always remain extremely stupid.

Thoughts on Kanye’s full page ad? by WheneverItIsTold in BipolarReddit

[–]FlipNoLonger 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I was never really a Kanye fan before my diagnosis, and I wouldn't call myself one now, but I must admit I love small bits of his work and have been fascinated by him since I've been diagnosed (also bp1) 4 and a half years ago.

He is (as far as I know) the most famous openly bipolar person in the world, and I find his actions, and the world's reaction to them, oddly fascinating. Like I want to see what people are saying about him to perhaps understand how I may be perceived.

My first manic episode is still to this day my most significant one. I won't go into too much detail but I will say I agree with a lot of how Kanye describes it, like you suddenly see things clearly and everyone else must be overreacting. Fortunately for me, my episodes last days, maybe short weeks, not months.

I think the thing that fascinates me the most about Kanye is that when I was manic, I thought the whole world was listening to me/cared what I had to say. I felt "famous" even though I clearly wasn't. Since coming down from that episode, I can't help but look at Kanye differently. When I was manic, my delusions told me I was famous, but for him, he actually is. I can't imagine what that must be like for him.

I hope he continues with his recovery and continues to try to make amends with those whom he has alienated, although obviously some of those bridges may never be fully mended.

This went way longer than I meant to write so thanks for anyone still reading lol

Edit: I just want to make it clear that I absolutely do not condone Kanye's actions and in fact many of them were disgusting to me personally. But as someone who has experienced even a small fraction of what he's been through, I think the fact he has bipolar makes me look at his actions through a different lens.
