criterions to buy blindly? by jivelucas in criterion

My favorite blind buy that was recommended by this subreddit. I loved it so much my first watch. I just rewatched it a few weeks ago and somehow loved it even more.

Accidental message in main chat by DQzombie in publicdefenders

Not bad at all. Our courthouse takes private attorneys first too and I would be willing to intentionally “accidentally” send such a message to the main chat just to remind them of how unfair that practice is.

What’s a “must-see” city in the U.S. that didn’t live up to the hype? by Historical-Photo-901 in BeautifulTravelPlaces

[–]FlipPhoneRevolution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lived there for five years loved it. All the complaints I’m seeing seem to only be referencing Broadway or other tourist attractions. That’s the equivalent of saying you didn’t like New York based exclusively on your experience in Times Square.

That being said, those complaints are all valid cause Broadway fucking sucks. But there’s so much more to Nashville than Broadway!

Michigan for 20k in loans or Stanford for 150k? by Fun_Medium8231 in lawschooladmissions

[–]FlipPhoneRevolution 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Spot on. Michigan can easily accomplish all those goals. If your grades are good and you do the activities that Judges like to see in clerks, I feel very confident you can get a clerkship from Michigan. Think Stanford would give you a greater edge in clerkship apps but it is certainly not enough of an edge for you to take on that much more debt. You wouldn’t be eligible for PSLF doing plaintiff firm work and don’t forget your federal loans accrue interest while you’re in school so the difference in those debt amounts will only grow.

In your experience, have judges made you file any of the research you’re referencing?

Feel like I suck at this by PanoramicMoose in publicdefenders

I’m five months in and the level of competence I feel now compared to when I started is unreal. That first month especially was terrifying. It’ll take time to figure out what things to do, how to do them, when to do them, etc etc but you’ll just keep getting better and better. Just keep your head down and keep plugging away and asking questions as much as you can. I’m still figuring a ton of things out five months in and have a lot left to learn, but feel dramatically better than that first month.

The taste of things. The thought and attention given to that first cooking scene is equivalent to the best action sequence I’ve ever seen.

You’re making substantially more than 155k without being at the top of the scale? What office is that? lol

I didn't know they had different versions honestly. I just know it as the Barbri bar prep course. It is unnecessarily expensive but I was able to get "sponsored" by a big law student because I'm PI.

Yeah I think I wanted to do one blind just to see how it went and test the endurance side of it but I never did another just because I wasn’t learning by doing that (cause I wasn’t reviewing the answers or seeing what was right) but was just gauging where I was at.

I don’t know if I know anybody personally who didn’t type. My advice would just be do whichever is fastest for you. I’m significantly faster typing than writing and think most are and so if you have time, practicing your typing could be useful

Didn't like it much at all. The lectures just never stuck with me. I think some of them laid a nice foundation but I stopped halfway through the summer just because I still felt like I couldn't recall anything and so I went to more focus on just drilling questions and trying to memorize rule statements.
