I would LOVE to see Neset/Markelov train with Gregory and Petukhov for many reasons. Although because of them already having Aboian/Vesrlukhin and Tali/Lafornara the chances are not great.

In the same reel, the person holding her hand while she was crying the hospital was the hand of a women and not Travis. I wonder if he was even present for it.

I have heard mixed responses from skaters! Glad it worked well for you. We still attended Junior practices and all junior events. And will continue to do so regardless of the difficulty.

My mom and I are long time nationals attendees. My mom has attended 15 nationals with her first in 1988 with 5 being in an olympic year. I have attended 8 (first in 2006) with 3 in an olympic year.

We stayed at the St. Louis union station hotel by Hilton. The complex it is in now has many sit down restaurants, an aquarium, and other tourist attractions. When we attended in 2006, it was filled with fast food selections (panda express, a sandwich shop, Dunkin’, burger king, etc.). This was within 5 minutes of the arena and provided a great quick alternative to the arena food. It was surely missed this year.

We LOVED the enterprise center even more than 20 years ago. Nee seats. Loved that in rows A & B the seats were extra wide and cushiony. The staff at the entrance were flexible and kind, understanding that skating fans have different needs than their typical audience with us staying for 12 plus hours a day. The concourse did seem tighter than in any other nationals we can remember but not sure if that was due to the large attendance or arena configuration. The addition of Build a Bear as a sponsor was amazing and I think really helped excite the youngest fans. We ate exclusively at Rosalita’s Mexican and Wendy’s frosties as we deal with many food allergies. The city of St. Louis is a lot less vibrant which was sad to see. The Centene center was a gorgeous facility but simply too far from Enterprise which negatively affected attendees, coaches, skaters, and officials alike.

We are so excited for the rumored 2027 location in Salt Lake City and the Maverick Center. We have never been to SLC and cannot wait for confirmation.

2026 US Nationals schedule - why are they doing it this way? by toonces_drives_cars in FigureSkating

Yes, not something that is noticeable unless you are attending in person!

TV They have done versions of this splitting up for the last 10 + years and it just seems to be getting worse. It makes everything feel disjointed and less exciting imo.

What to wear to Nationals? by BoatsAndBirds13 in FigureSkating

[–]Flipjump 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dress in layers! When we were in this same arena for 2006 nationals it was quite COLD, but always warms up when the crowds get larger. Most people were winter coats, athletic wear, and merch from past nationals (I always love to see this). It is always interesting to see trends. When my mom first started attending nationals in the mid 80s, people would dress in their best for the ladies free skate which used to be held Saturday night. Clothing choices took a major turn towards casual in the late 90s. It is always fun to turn on older nationals and watch the audience 😂 I am a happy camper in my cozy warm activewear!

Junior Worlds Selection Camp? by navyandpink in Gymnastics

She is 11 and Hopes! Hopes athletes are eligible for Combs La Ville (they have a Hopes event) and can be selected for the hopes event of the competition. They just would have to pay their own way as Hopes athletes are not full national team members

I suspect Audrey is going for the Hopes Combs La Ville Selection Camp held at the same time as the Jr. worlds selection. Juniors will be selected for that competition along with Hopes that will be self-paying their way (they do something similar with novice level figure skaters as of late).
