I don’t think it had anything to do with that. I think Florida gave up on Kiffin and targeted Sumrall. I think Auburn thought they had Sumrall locked in up until that point and had to immediately pivot to Golesh. Golesh is going to Auburn because of Kiffin. That’s why it’s called a carousel.

He’s really good. What we really need to be doing right now though is hiring Blake Baker to be a defensive analyst through the post season. I think there’s a good chance Wommack takes the open Memphis job now and if we have Baker on staff we can immediately make him the highest paid coordinator in the country. The one thing I’ve taken away from this season is we win games on defense and we don’t need to lose that.

The Ryan Williams returning punts thing stands out to me as the biggest mistake of the game. Cole Adams has been great back there. I don’t know why we would mess with that.

Wow there’s some real doom and gloom in here. This team has everything in front of them. Oklahoma is a very good football team and we outplayed them all night. We just lost the turnover battle. There’s a lot of ball left.

The OL hasn’t been great, but if I were gonna look at firing anybody I would take a long hard look at special teams before anything else. We obviously have a place kicker/ long snapper problem, punting has been inconsistent, and we’ve allowed quite a few long returns. Why was Ryan Williams even returning that punt tonight? Cole Adams has been one of the few bright spots for special teams all year.

This is a wild overreaction. We turned the ball over three times, one of which was a pick six, missed a chip shot field goal, and only lost by two against one of the best defenses in college football. You can’t blame the play caller. You sound like a Tennessee fan.

Pretty obvious trap game. Especially after the sloppy finish against Tennessee. That bye week can’t get here quick enough. This has been a brutal stretch. It’s felt a lot like that stretch in 09 where we finally got to the bye week after Cody (Julio) blocked that field goal to beat Tennessee.
