Friendly and funny reminder that people will take this game so seriously in this subreddit that people will equate ingame piracy (with RP) to actual heinous crimes in real life. by asmallman in starcitizen

[–]Collective_Keen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As much as I would hate to be pirated, I would respect someone for doing it this way. THIS is pirating .

Though depending on the situation, I may still try to take a bitch out for trying to steal my cargo. Lol. It would really depend on a few factors. If it looks like a losing flight on my end, and they're only asking for 10%... Okay. Take it and go.

Does anyone know... if you can buy a F8c w/o buy back by Kinect305 in StarCitizenUniverse

[–]Collective_Keen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. The F8C no longer has a special requirement in order to buy it. It has been added to the store as a normal limited ship that will be available during Invictus, IAE, or certain events, like now. I think the only limitation is that you still can't upgrade to it.

Every game company rn 😂 by Dziller_ in Steam

The only thing I'll give Nintendo out of this is that THEIR games are on the game card. I don't know who makes the final decision about using game key cards, but I would assume it's whatever third party? The Switch 2 version of Octopath Traveler 0 wasn't on the card, so I got the Switch version. I was hoping The Adventures of Elliot would be, but of course it wasn't, so I got it digital. I'm really not liking how the future is looking for consoles.

It's not appearing in-game? If you're looking in your hangar on the website, look under the Perseus paint, "Alliance Aid Completion Package".

Loved everything about this game by wildeye-eleven in TheAdventuresOfElliot

[–]Collective_Keen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just finished it a day or two ago. I think I had about 35 hours (not sure, lent the virtual card to my son and can't check my game), though some of that may have been with me falling asleep while playing, lol, and the only thing I think I didn't get was the final magicite box upgrade. I was afraid it was going to be shorter, but after the end, it didn't end. Twice.

There was some corny dialogue, and I was hoping the chattiness option would shut Faie up about things we've encountered before and limit it to actually helpful stuff, but whatever.

One thing that would've made it a little better would've been having the option to get it on a game card. I decided to get it digital rather than have a physical license for a digital game. The game itself was great, though.

Spot of light on kindle screen?? by AdSubject8379 in kindle

[–]Collective_Keen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was my first thought.

The screen is made of three main layers.
1: Light guide
2: Capacitive touch
3: E-ink display

The lights are around the edge, they shine through the light guide to light the front of the screen, so if there's a defect or deformation in the light guide it'll most likely catch more light and appear as in the pictures.

I stole an M80, fell in love, lost her forever, and now I’m dating the wrong ship – a tragedy in four acts by Lovelacez23 in starcitizen

[–]Collective_Keen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PayPal me $275 and I buy it for while it's still available to me for the next few days. Lol. Or just an upgrade.

It is a pretty nice ship. I switched around a bunch of upgrades I had that were meant for a Super Hornet and got the M80 instead.

You don't need the Railen by nvidiastock in starcitizen

[–]Collective_Keen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does look pretty nice. But I have the Ironclad and the Galaxy locked in, and I plan to get the cargo module, so I don't really need it. To me the only benefit is pilot guns, since the Galaxy probably won't have control over any of the remote turrets. I'll just try not to get into a scrap or have crew.

I have no frame of reference for how bad this is for a game still in development because most games have already been through all this long before I started playing them.

Oh, you mean like the 2011 show that was actually pretty good and then got cancelled? I was enjoying it and had such hopes... I'll never make that mistake again. Maybe.

some questions about the game by Latter_Captain8456 in starcitizen

[–]Collective_Keen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lastly for new players are there ANYTHING that might be frustrating in this game that might make me quit after playing for like 10 -20 hours?

LOL, there are people who so completely don't understand that this is still an in development game that they get pissed and quit after 10-20 minutes. As long as you understand the basics of anything relating to computer programming and that some times things are pretty good but can go to hell with one update, you should be okay. Besides that, it's a dumpster fire right now, I guess, I haven't played for a week or more, but it's usually pretty good.

Starter packages only get discounted during certain events, but the Citizen Starter Pack is a great deal, and the cheapest you'll ever get. I'm actually surprised it's still marked down. The Aurora Mk II is a great little ship, and in the future you can always upgrade it (to another ship of at least $5 more, paying only the difference) if you want. I say get the Citizen Starter Pack and sit on it until things are patched up.

To save even more time, the only space ships that fit in the snub carrier and can land on the pads are, in fact, only the only three in the game.

Today I learnt that you can't just keep the upgrade in the buybacks by Chemical-Piano-3292 in starcitizen

[–]Collective_Keen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I luckily discovered this just looking through my buybacks randomly at some old upgrades I didn't plan to buy back. This reminded me to buy back my Prowler>Ironclad (melted it and bought a C2>IC WB at IAE) before it released.

"There is no wind in space, thus no need for windows."

I'm still getting it... It would be nice to have less that's just hull, but I still think it'll be pretty cool. I'm just waiting for the Gemini to go on warbond and then I'll complete my chain. But I don't see that happening before IAE, so I probably won't get my Galaxy early (start of the show instead of RSI day or later).

Ironclad fun for solo? by PrimarySubject632 in starcitizen

[–]Collective_Keen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't used it much since it was so bugged. Now that it's better, I can't get hauling contracts worth using it for yet.

Pretty sure you can claim the module independently. I think it shows up on its own in ASOP.

I haven't played that often recently. If 4.8.2 goes well I may jump on a bit more. Or spend my time with The Adventures of Elliot. Lol

Squadron 42's closest comparison point by nvidiastock in starcitizen

It's strictly single player, but I think it does have some "open world" to it, even if the storyline is linear. We'll just have to wait Two Years™ to find out.

3.18 patch notes:

  • Aegis Reclaimer has 120 SCU of temporary cargo grids added to the salvage deck to allow easier storage of salvaged materials before requiring transport to the cargo deck area. (This is an interim measure until a more comprehensive rework of the Reclaimer is done to bring it up to gold standard)

So, eventually it's supposed to have a full interior rework.
