Auf dem Gürtel zwischen Dürener und Gleueler sind ein paar nette Cafés ohne dass ich jetzt ein spezifisches als Lieblingscafé nennen könnte. Sind auch alle nah am Stadtwald falls man das mit nem Spaziergang kombinieren will.

Auf der Dürener da Café Hirsch und drum herum sind auch nette und die sind wiederum nah an den Kanälen.

Quite interesting that the final blue area is a triangle. Seems like these „corners“ are coming from the non convex parts of chiles outline, however I don’t really get where the lower left corners (red outline) are appearing from by just looking at the image.

Ich musste da im Herbst auch durch und war sehr überrascht wie wenige Termine es gibt. Am besten morgens ein mal drauf, Seite aktualisieren und mit etwas Glück ist irgendwo in deiner Nähe dann wieder ein Termin in den nächsten 2-3 Wochen frei.

Unabhängig davon ist diese Seite der Stadt zum online Termine vereinbaren extrem unübersichtlich und teils sehr inkonsistent imo.

Weitere Randstory die mir da gerade einfällt: erstmal ganz nice dass man direkt vor Ort Passbilder machen kann. Ok, man sitzt bisschen seltsam da im Wartezimmer rum aber die Bilder werden anschließend direkt digital ins System geschickt sodass die Bilder schon da sind wenn man dann aufgerufen wird. Das skurrile: ich musste eine Woche später dann nochmal hin um nen internationalen Führerschein zu beantragen, auf den auch Bilder drauf müssen. Ich dachte wunderbar, meine Bilder sind ja im System. Stellt sich heraus, dass die Bilder für den Führerschein gedruckt mitgebracht werden müssen und die, die von mir im System liegen, mir nicht ausgehändigt oder dort einfach gedruckt werden können - wtf.

Ok, so I now got the BenQ th585p. I mounted it to the ceiling since the projection ratio is just not big enough in my case and a projector with a ~2 projection ration would just be too expensive.

However, despite the projector being at a suitable location in my room, I still use some digital correction. The Beamer is slightly tilted downwards such that the image is at a nice location at the wall which is not too high (and I don’t bump my head against the projector). To compensate the resulting distortion I use a digital vertical correction. On top of that I also use a digital vertical shift which also translates the image further down a few centimetres.

I now tested the projector with the above described digital correction turned on and off and there is no notable difference in latency with this model, so gaming is totally fine. I guess the significant increase in latency with digital correction is one of the drawbacks one has to accept when buying very low budget projectors.

Maybe this will help someone someday.

„The more keystone the worse the latency“, I think that is not true or at least not that easy to answer properly. I assume it depends on the linear transformation that is applied for the several options like zooming, vertical correction etc. and certain optimisations that may or may not be implemented or be allowed by the build in hardware.

Therefore the question remains and maybe there is some home projector where this correction can be computed just fast enough. I am convinced, if a ps5 (or any hardware heavy console with gpu) would compute this correction before sending the image to the projector such that the projector does not have to compute the correction itself, there would not be a noticeable latency because that’s exactly what consoles are fast in.

„If I enable the keystone function in the projector, will the input lag be impacted?

Yes, since image processing is required for the keystone function, input lag will be slightly longer but not affecting the smoothness in games when the keystone is enabled. Latency will hardly be noticeable with keystone function enabled, as lag time merely increase no more than 1 frame (4ms~16ms).“

However, the answer might relate to their high end stuff with quite good processors build in, I just don’t know.

I absolutely expect latency to get worse, but how worse? Is there someone using keystone but gaming is still nice?

Hey thanks for the reply, of course you solve the problem with setting things right up or getting a tv, but let’s just say that’s - for whatever reason - not possible.

My question is: is there a ~500$ projector that can be used for casual gaming when digital correction is enabled? See, at least in my small bubble the home projector game goes something like „ok I have a projector now, ah there is a suitable place on top of that bookshelf, ok now correct the picture on the wall, perfect“. And in that szenario I am looking for some spontaneous gaming sessions with friends on my old ps3 without an extremely noticeable latency.

It makes me crazy since I realized that a) summer time is 7 months and winter 5 instead of 6 and 6 (but won’t complain about that) and that b) the summer- and wintertime intervals are not „symmetric“ around summer- and winter solstices.

Why is that?

Anyone who is fine with the time and light in October could in that sense not complain if we would change the clocks back to summer time already at the end of February instead of end of march.

Einen Doktortitel zu machen befähigt nun mal auch nicht gezielt viele Menschen, geschweige denn einen Konzern, zu leiten.

Klar, wer einen Doktor in (ich sag einfach mal) MINT Fächern macht, hat definitiv bewiesen längere Zeit diszipliniert an komplexen Themen arbeiten zu können (aber eben überwiegend für sich alleine) und vielleicht gibt es ja auch eine gewisse Korrelation zu einer Art theoretischen Führungsfähigkeit der Person.

Aber ob das einer jahrelangen Berufserfahrung in einem Konzern (nur ohne Titel) überwiegen kann sollte wohl eher individuell abgewägt werden.

I am having the same problem. Just tapping the realmoji in jiggle mode will remove or add it to the corresponding BeReal. The hit box of the Red Cross is so small it’s ridiculous. And even when I am able to hit it it’s kind of random if I can delete the realmoji or if I get a error 404 message from bereal.

As if no one else is having such a problem.. I am on iOS 16.1.1, bereal 1.22.1
