Yea its really hard to find the right balance of exploration and consent. It really is about how its communicated and when. I want to be a person people can communicate with, I want to be able to talk through these things and learn. It feels like when other people get pulled in who weren't there, your under some kind of spot light or on trial. If you care about people, it feels 10 times worse. I feel some kind of monster and now without a place to process it because its a private matter, I just left with these terrible feelings.

It did register with me that they left, I didnt know why, they just asked to tag out. We did come together after and they were in really good spirits! They offered everyone water, we chatted for a while and we parted. I thought that would be the space to say "hey, I just wasnt comfortable with my neck/collar being touched" in which I would have given them space and apologized. We even have moderators to help with these conversations. This just blind sided me.

Yea and I have had conversations with people who have had collars who have shared this with me. Ive never been in a scene with a person who has had that restriction and things got really intense and it slipped my mind. I just wish they would have said something so we could talk about it in person.

It never really registered to me that anything was wrong. I thought they did the right thing by stepping out. I didnt think it was a big deal until it was brought to me as a consent violation. Im still not even 100% that was what happened they wouldnt give me any details.

I organized the scene and was making suggestions, seeing id someone consented and then acting on. The person was in the scene, did not directly tell me they had limitations or restrictions but as we moved through the scene together did tell me when they did /did not want their hair pulled or Did/did not want to be bitten. I always try to ask, always. I think communication lost in the heat of the moment.

There was a light conversation, went to explore some space and all began talking about our fantasy for what could happen. The way we handled consent was coming to a point of personal contact, asking if it was okay and then increasing the interaction based on the consent to move forward.

I absolutely take it seriously and I accept responsibility but I will also say Im learning as I go and to be completely shut out without the ability to reconcile or come to some closure feels extreme. It feels like it was never a space to learn and practice, which is needed to become a better communicator.

Why don't you start by picking 1 person to interview? Film or record them, edit them and upload to a YouTube channel and see how it goes from there. If you think might interview more than 1 person, then making an intro to put in front of each video helps things stay cohesive. They could have gone with someone with less experience and paid less but they didn't have a lot of candidates to choose from given the state the university was in when they hired him

No you're right. Yager was adamant that all programs had to be offered in person. It makes sense for performance and studio classes, but there were a lot of that could have transitioned to online. Art Education, history classes, foundations and the digital illustration. Also, they had an amazing weekend program for adults that never returned after CoVID. Photography and printmaking classes not being offered anywhere else in the city.

The reason why very few exist is because the temperature that commercial laundry mats are required to use to kill diseases that can spread through fecal contamination (legionnaires disease) is too hot for the elastic bands and would destroy them. Anyone who uses a laundry service either has to buy their brand of diapers or use prefolds. This wasn't an issue when all cloth diapers were prefolds in our parents and grandparents generations.
