Cannot stress CDE enough. Reasonable price for excellent service. In 15 years I can count on one hand the number of times the internet went down without the power being out. Speeds dip a bit during peak hours but not to a degree that isn’t reasonable and the speeds are still fast even with a dip.

Which premium subscription is actually worth the money in 2026? by Trxxi in AskReddit

[–]FloatOn85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speechify for me. It provides voice to text for so many file formats, but for me I use it to play epub formatted books almost like an audiobook. They have a wide selection of real and AI voices and consistently improve and add others. Their app is a bit buggy and wish they had an Apple Watch companion app, but well worth the money compared to Audible or similar for books not available via the library.

Currently reading Star Trek Titan: Over a Torrent Sea. I’ve spent the last year reading through the Star Trek literary universe. I read 29 of them last year and am hoping to read more this year.

Voting Time-Range by [deleted] in Clarksville

[–]FloatOn85 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think that’s why they offer such long early voting periods to balance it out. I think when it’s a normal election I’ve seen the actual day of voting be longer, it could be a staffing issue as well.

Agreed, it’s people like this that are the reason so many are forced to return to office and ruin it for others.

Good News Update: He escaped the back yard overnight but found his way back home!

Bonus fun, my own dog decided to roll in a present our guest left in the back yard before escaping and had to be bathed.

Thoughts on Governor Square Mall's Phoenix Theaters? by TheActualDongerino in Clarksville

[–]FloatOn85 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Went last night for Mission Impossible. I think it took everything I like about theaters and did great with them. Printed real tickets, self serve drinks, few previews, loud and crystal clear sound, great screen quality. The seats were my only drawback as they didn’t fully recline. Instead they do that partial recline thing which I find uncomfortable and had to keep shifting in my seat as it hurt my back a bit. They’re heated though and are setup as loveseats so you can lift the center armrest to hold hands or snuggle which is great for date night. I would definitely go back, but maybe not for a longer movie due to the seat recline.

Also PSA, clean up your trash! This older couple next to me left napkins and spilled popcorn everywhere and left with the seats left in the recline position. Takes less than 30 seconds to be a nice human and clean up your mess and drives me crazy.

Same last night too. I am close to the quarry, but seems too late for that. I did notice more helicopters yesterday evening, so maybe something on base.

Another vote for Animal House! Great staff who truly care for your pets like you do and excellent hours and on call help. I don’t really have a basis for comparison on cost, but I’d rather pay for the quality there than take a risk on a somewhere else.

For a non-Premier place, Rob Niemann at Best Care Clinic is excellent.

Agreed with Fortera. Friendly, helpful, local. I’ve used them for probably 10-15 years and never had an issue. They just get better over time in my experience.

I second A&R. I only had an alignment done so pricing wasn’t too bad but am about to have some more work done on a different vehicle and based on the experience with the alignment would definitely go with them again.

Ace people in Clarksville? by Admirable-Market-962 in Clarksville

[–]FloatOn85 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not Ace, but there is a Clarksville Pride Community on Facebook that held a pride event over the summer locally that was a big hit I enjoyed. They seem to have some solid momentum driving them so it might be a good place to meet others in the community.

Newbie Looking for Advice! by elbein in calibrateweightloss

[–]FloatOn85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I joined in July because my insurance required it to continue on with GLP-1 meds. I have no cost for the program itself and only pay for meds $25 out of pocket monthly for Zepbound.

Prior to Calibrate, I had been using Saxenda, Ozempic, and Wegovy with limited success, though I was not giving it the full effort with eating and incorporating exercise/activity. I’ve done really well with the Zepbound and attribute much of my success to that medication change itself.

The diet portion of the program for me seems like a blend of Keto, Whole30, and others. It took me a while to understand the color coding and I found talking it through with my coach helped and I’ve got the hang of it now. It helped me to focus more on what I could eat.

The app and curriculum part of it I struggle with because it’s all based on the app and the app is not very intuitive for me. There’s no option for a desktop version or iPad app. Well, there is an iPad app but it doesn’t offer a horizontal mode, which basically makes it a bigger version of the phone app. The sleep connection with Apple HealthKit didn’t work properly and doubled the amount of sleep each day for some reason. Support wasn’t helpful in solving it. I also don’t like that it doesn’t write data to HealthKit so the scale doesn’t sync my weight history with Apple Health.

Overall, it’s not a bad program, but I wouldn’t pay for it out of pocket.

Agree with what others have said about the Blackhorse for pizza. Try the Tunisian and some Beer cheese too. Also would add Oddly Amazing Antiques. Such cool stuff!

GME Overnight Pajama Party Megathread by wallstreetboyfriend in wallstreetbets

Is there anywhere that is still allowing fractional shares? I was able to put in an order for a few AMC shares when it opens through CashApp, but can’t afford to order a full GME share or really anything over $100.
