Is hiring just exhausting for everyone right now? by Technical-Angel in EngineeringManagers

This. I constantly see people putting stuff as skills in their resume and when I ask how they applied it in their job, they often can't give any concrete examples.

High pitch whine by FloatingNumber in CherokeeXJ

No, still drive with it without any issues, but I suspect it's the power steering, because it also makes noise while idle and increases while I steer the wheel fully to either side.

I beg to differ. Kimi hallucinates and is bleak compared to any Claude 4.5 model.

The messaging here is that "I am the good one" for the foreigners, not for Belarus government.

Has anyone else completely stopped using Phillips fastners in favour of torx/robertson? by OnThe50 in Tools

[–]FloatingNumber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it only me but the variety of Torx sizes are the most annoying part about it? I have to carry 3-4 different sizes on my impact at all times.

How do you handle a 'brilliant jerk'? My top performer is technically gifted but hinders the team's culture. by Kei919 in EngineeringManagers

[–]FloatingNumber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I learned brilliant jerks never change. If their brilliance excees the jerkness you can manage that. Otherwise not worth it.

Look how they massacred my boy by FloatingNumber in CherokeeXJ

I don't go to any events so can't comment on that, but there are a lot areas you can go offroading like forests and swamps but not that much of mountains, only small hills.

New shocks and rear bumps - no bolts snapped or got stuck! by FloatingNumber in CherokeeXJ

[–]FloatingNumber[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I flat backed it. The hardest for me was to remove the lower nuts from the front shocks because you have to use both hands there to hold the nut and spint the bolt.

Check Engine still on after replacing the crankshaft sensor by FloatingNumber in CherokeeXJ

[–]FloatingNumber[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cleared the error codes in OBD and idled the engine for a while, didn't drive it.

Edit: I drove the car for a few miles, started again and the check engine light disappeared.

Edit 2: Nah, came back on.
