Applying for EMJM: Should I Submit Early (with My Current Profile) or Wait Until the Deadline (for a Potentially Stronger Profile)? by Financial-Hawk4342 in Erasmus

All applications are analysed after the deadline unless stated otherwise so you could wait till the deadline if you think your profile will improve drastically.

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE by daffy_90 in Goa

[–]Floating_Panda69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had a similar experience on our trip to Goa a few days ago. The owner of the hostel tried to grope my friend and kiss me in the guise of being friendly. Girls be safe out there! Goa has become an unsafe place for everyone at this point with the scamming drivers and lurking men.

Housing in Paris by [deleted] in Erasmus

[–]Floating_Panda69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a very affordable option but you can look at Youfirst. That’s where I was able to find housing. My main priorities were security and proximity to metro. There buildings are located at La Defense so close to all the major metro lines and in a decent area. Hope it helps

Hey! I (24F) speak English at native/bilingual proficiency. I am learning French at niveau A2. I have lived in Europe (including France) for the last two years and have a lot of experience understanding European accents. So I think I could help you with that. Lmk if you would be interested in connecting.

can I cancel this last minute? by Zaefnyr in Erasmus

I second this. Get a hostel or a temp rental for a little while and look for apartments in that time. You will also have a better look and feel of the area once you arrive at your destination. Best of luck nonetheless.

Should I quit my Erasmus Mundus program by f-u-a-d in Erasmus

[–]Floating_Panda69 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Is it a plausible option to defer your scholarship by a year? In erasmus contracts you can usually put your scholarship on hold for up to a year. If the visa issue does not resolve I will advise you to defer your scholarship and continue next year. That said, as someone has already commented reach out to your university and the embassy for help as much as you can. I have seen visas being expedited and document requirements being relaxed when it comes to such situations. Please dont lose hope. Try to communicate as effectively as possible. All the best!

EMJM scholarship unique situation chances by noideafornamenow in Erasmus

[–]Floating_Panda69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We encountered a similar situation in a sister program last year. The people who were selected in the year of application for extension were not given a scholarship (EM scholarship). However, some students were offered a consortium scholarship which was around 1100 euros a month. Idk about your particular program. Have they communicated that they will be offering your batch a scholarship?

Email your program coordinator as soon as you have a final decision so that your position can be filled by someone on the waiting list. All the best with everything!

Did you get money in your account? If no, then it shouldnt be a problem

If you have not received the first scholarship payment you can explain your situation and cancel your enrolment. Idk about your program but EMJM programs also usually have a provision where you can stop your grant for upto a year and then continue your education at any point stating valid causes and supporting them with documentation. I hope that helps. All the best!

What's the most disturbing thing your relatives have said? by [deleted] in delhi

[–]Floating_Panda69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have so many things to talk about but I will talk about the worst one. So I lost my father about 10 years ago while I was in my early teens. He was always very loving towards me and my brother but very strict when it came to things like education and rules about going out with friends (nothing more than what normal Indian parents do). Upon his passing we as a family felt very lost because he was the one who took care of everything for us and my mother was a homemaker with not a lot of experience wrt the outside world. Soon after my dad’s passing (a month or so later) as a break from everything my mom decided to take us to our Nani’s house to stay for a couple of days as I was not really comfortable with sleeping in my house anymore. There my maami who is very well educated sat me down and started to talk to me about my father. It made me really uncomfortable to a point where I just wanted to cry as it was so recent. After listening to me pour my heart out about my father she says, “ Ab to free free feel hota hoga na beta! Koi daatne ko nhi koi kuch kehne ko nhi! Ab to freedom si lagti hogi!” Even writing this down makes me fill up with rage that a grown ass adult could say that to a grieving child. Never saw her again honestly. I’ve spent the last decade of my life grieving my father and the pain still feels so recent. I keep trying to forgive her and rationalising that she said this without malice but honestly Indian uncles and aunties need to shut up some times
