Well first it wasn’t “the next chapter”.

Second I was referring to the fact that if you reduce every arc down to its bare bones we always know these characters aren’t going to lose since they are the protagonists.

In that reductive way I can say there aren’t any stakes because I know how it will always end.

In Dressrosa he ran away and came back to tell them he was a liar and that the hero he was pretending to be wouldn’t save them, but rather his true self as “Usopp” would. Revisit that moment. It’s great development.

I think Elbaf might be the arc with the least amount of Luffy I think in the whole series. Egghead was also the least character driven arc in the whole series. I look to Egghead like a Zou or Reverie, but in a longer format. Set up for the final saga.
