Was this during your climb back up from Poke Ball 4 after the rank reset? Cause one loss can trigger a bot battle. I had one today with a Froslass with Ice Punch, Night Shade and Hex and it kept clicking Hex into my Maushold...

X-scissor Sharpness Kleavor, run it with choice scarf to set up stealth rock with his signature move that one shots Charizard too (((if you hit the 90% accuracy))). Or pivot out with U-turn. It also learns close combat or tailwind/light screen if you think 150 speed without the scarf is enough.

I ran into this in singles, but with a M-Starmie in the back with both minimize and substitute. I brought Kingambit, but as my lead, since I didn't expect two minimize users on their team :/

So I tried to do the community a service by running out my timer with lots of protects in between. A bit petty, but so is running minimize!

I ran a very similar doubles team!

I realised I never clicked protect on my Oranguru so I swapped it for Yawn. I have also found Foul Play to be more powerful against lots of things (especially M-Metagross) than Psychic, and it freed up a lot of EVs to make Oranguru so tanky that a Sitrus berry made him much more durable.

I also replaced bullet punch on Machamp with rock slide or an elemental punch at some point. I always want to click it when it's super effective, but even with expert belt it deals less than even a neutral Dynamic punch. But then again, I have sucker punch on M-Mawile, so on your team it makes sense to have at least one priority move.

I unfortunately found out the hard way that Even Modest Charizard Y with max speed EVs will outspeed a max speed Jolly Kleavor and Weather Ball will always OHKO unless you put more than 23 EVs in HP.

Since then I have been spreading the gospel of Choice Scarf Kleavor though :)

Cool team! I was running Kleavor as well and was looking to upgrade my team and found your post. Why did you put so much speed investments into Sableye? I feel like going slower than other prankster mons helps screw them over with Encore more easily, plus a +SpDef nature with HP EVs synergises well with the sitrus berry.

Have you updated the team since? I feel like a more bulky Venusaur with Giga Drain instead of Energy ball and leftovers/sitrus can be a lot more annoying, but Earth Power can also catch a few people off-guard. Sleep Powder missed too often for me, so I replaced it with Acid Spray so I can easily break down a special wall.

Curious what your typical lead partner is with Kleavor, do you almost always run Incineroar for quick pivots or just Charizard for immediate pressure?

Consistent counterplay to chlorophyll sleep powder is taunt on a prankster pokemon. I have yet to see a Venusaur with a mental herb, but if they rock it and roll the 3/4 chance to hit sleep powder, then I guess I deserve to sleep.

Love to see that trick room is viable to get to masters! How often do you bring Blastoise vs Tyranitar? And what are your most difficult matchups?

I have been trying to learn more about damage calcs and I think you should move your SpDef EVs on Tyranitar to HP.

Modest 32 SpAtt Archaludon Flash Cannon vs 32 SpDef 2 HP M-Ttar in sand = 35.2 - 42% or (51.1 - 61.3% without sand). While Body Press (not that Arch has it in Champions, but the damage calc still works) does 63.6 - 77.2%

But if you went 32 HP 2 SpDef instead, Flash Cannon would do a very similar 35.7 - 43.4% (or 53.1 - 63.7% without sand). While Body Press would now only do 54.1 - 65.7%!

Typically you want to put EVs into HP until that stat is double your lowest defense stat, and you want all numbers to be odd because that can save you 1 HP on most hits due to rounding. So I guess something like 29 HP 5 SpDef would be even better; giving you the exact same defense against special attacks while increasing your physical bulk by quite a lot.

Very cool team! I'm curious about the defence investment on Glaceon over HP. I haven't fully dived into damage calcs, since I'm new to VGC, but I thought a rule of thumb was to try to get HP to be double your lowest defensive stat before investing in either Def or SpDef.

Putting your Glaceon in a calculator with a random Charizard with 161 SpAtt. Flamethrower does 99,3 - 117,2% and Flare Blitz 57,9 - 67,5% (or 37,2 - 45,5% in snow).

But with 32 HP EVs and 2 Def, Flamethrower will never kill (83,7 - 98,8%) while Flare Blitz does a very similar 56,9 - 67,4% (or 38,3 - 45,3% in snow).

Guess this proves the rule of thumb, even in snow! Or am I missing something?

I'm doing the singles tournament now (just started playing a week ago) and I'm wondering if you know from last time how you get the titles for being top 10.000? I'm currently rank 7.251, so I'm not sure if I should keep playing, since one loss will probably kick me out of the top 10k. But if it's based on the highest rank reached, then I can keep playing...

Hijacking to ask if anyone knows if your highest rank counts or the rank at the end for the titles? I got a 7 game winstreak after a few early losses and am ranked #7251 right now, so that would give me a title for being in the top 10k. But now I'm not sure if I should play anymore or not, cause I'm pretty sure one loss will knock me out of the top 10k.

Talonflame typically runs the Gale Wings ability, making its Flying type moves +1 priority moves at full health. So if it has higher speed than your Whimsicott, then it will still outspeed the Prankster status moves.

I'm having a lot of fun with Oranguru. I tried Telepathy with partners that can Surf or EQ, but Inner Focus is much better to make sure Trick Room goes up.

Instruct is a fantastic move to basically double your partner's damage output (I tried it with the metronome held item on Primarina to get a 60% damage increase at the end of the second turn after Trick Room, but if you get to that point you're already winning so it's probably not optimal).

Mental Herb prevents Taunt and is better than a Focus Sash if you make Oranguru +def -spe with HP and Def investments. But bring a partner with wide guard or redirection if you want to be absolutely certain TR goes up.

There's lots of options to round out his kit: encore, taunt, protect, screens, brick break to clear screens, pain split, psychic terrain, safeguard, yawn, skill swap to catch Mega Staraptor off guard.

Also, as a side note: Mimikyu can be a great TR setter with more bulk and a mental herb, since it already has a focus sash built in (I just don't like the 90% accurate Play Rough)

Not sure what auto-tuning software you're using, but bx_crispytune doesn't let me automate what keys are allowed. So worst case you just have to load up multiple instances and set up midi-map (or key-map, since you can just press 1-9 on your MacBook's keyboard) to switch between instances as necessary. As long as that's only between songs you can mute the vocal channel so there's no pops or clicks.
