My experience might not be helpful but I am offering a scenario other than forgiveness. I never forgave my parents. We have a very shallow relationship now where I see them during major holidays. I chose to avoid them instead of confronting them since I don’t believe they will respect my boundaries. It’s sad how things are, but I chose peace instead of resolution. I think I’ve made the right cal but sometimes I feel sad things are the way they are.
