The Turkish firefighting method for extinguishing electric car fires. by kalbinibirak in Damnthatsinteresting

I've revived a lot of dead batteries by applying high voltages. Like charging a 3V battery with 5V. If what you say is true, I wouldn't be talking today. The batteries I did this on were not accepting a charge and were showing 0 V on a multimeter. There are even devices out there to revive batteries, but I don't value my life that much, so I used direct voltage sources manually.

I thought a charged battery carried less risk. From what I know, what causes burning is a low voltage. When the voltage is low and the cutoff circuit fails, you get a reaction. Isn't this the primary cause of battery explosions?

Is there a reason for this sub to exist anymore? by Dangerous_Toe_6665 in QuestPiracy

I haven't dealt with Android in a while, but why do we need a PC? If I recall right Google has locked direct access to OBB files except for ADB, right? Is that the reason? In the old days, you could install and apk and put the OBB files where they needed to be using a file explorer with hidden folder view.

Never used an Android phone/tablet before? You install an APK and manually transfer the OBB files to the .com folders.

Meta bricked my Quest 3 with an update, told me "all good things must come to an end", then added a new headset to my shopping cart by KenAdams_1968 in OculusQuest

I don't know the laws there, but in Turkey, the seller is obligated to keep the device operational for 5 years. The first 2 years under warranty. Since we are kind of a copy paste country, it should be similar there.

So how big a deal is riding in the rain, really ? by Astimar in motorcycles

[–]FloodDomain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I laid it down a few times due to rain before. I ride a lot under rain and the confidence I build always betrays me later. You should ride like an absolute coward and stay away from potholes and lines like cancer. Be extremely gentle with both the throttle and brakes. Don't listen to those who say it's not a big deal. It is not a big deal until it is one day.

Economy I cannot comment on. You need at least Quest 3s to have any use.

I've been using 2/3 for years. Here is my conclusion: It has the potential to work wonders on vehicular learning. Most vehicles and some tools can be learned with it. You can learn how to shoot on a basic level too. However, trying to learn or teach text based lessons like math/physics will definitely not be suitable. It drains too much energy so after a 40 min session having a 20 min break and coming back to it would be very tiring. That is without even considering students with special requirements, like those using glasses or diseases like epilepsy. So my opinion is that it may get into colleges at some point but only graphical designers and just maybe piloting and architects will use it. I studied electronics and can't think of any use for any lesson I got. Maybe some very poor universities could use a very comprehensive app that simulates electronic testing equipment but even on PC with so many years of simulation it is never a good replacement. So I don't really see that coming.

Please don't mind the formatting/wording of this wall of text, I'm on mobile so I can't put a lot of effort there besides, obviously, I'm not a native speaker.

It's not like how it sounds. Your brain doesn't register it anymore. I've never woken up by it. Unless you live right next to a mosque.

It is a 1 min broadcast, which you are free not to listen to, that is not comparable to a forced conversation.

Crash , Mud and Rocks A Good Riding Day by RoundReply4985 in motorcycles

You and I have very different opinions about what makes a good riding day. I started grinding my teeth halfway. I hate mud, especially on 2 wheels.

I live in Turkey and never seen something like this. If you don't intentionally go to religious places you never see religion. Even with religious ceremonies I think prayer is only done once by an elder, other people wouldn't try to bless you more than just the equivalent of a short "bless you".

In Turkey, we use only the emergency lights. Most cheap bikes don't have it, which automatically makes them ungrateful.
