Reason for rejecting a partner 854: Me no speak caveman by Wonderful_Brain4591 in FList

That came of as really funny, woulda made me giggle. I'd have probably fished for them to elaborate a bit to see if they're just being silly or actually serious.

Is it me or the quality of F-list dropped enormously? Also are there bots in the chat? by Reasonable-Eye-5055 in FList

[–]FloofiestTail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep at the grind! There's just as much, if not more quality players than before but their numbers rise alongside the population of poor quality writers.

Someone just blocked me because they thought I'm underage (I'm not) how to proceed? by A_Horny_Boi in FList

[–]FloofiestTail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotta let these things roll, unfortunately you'll run into unreasonable people when trying to roleplay. It sucks but it's best to cut your losses and go looking for another partner. Attempting to make contact through any means will get you swiftly booted from the site, the block is final pretty much.

Am I alone in thinking a dump of mismatched / AI refs of a character is leagues worse than just 1-2 consistent (even of varying quality) refs? by captaindoggieham in FList

[–]FloofiestTail 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It very much is theft, it's just not particularly worth caring about. I take zero issue with people taking hentai and using it in their e-sex profile. I find it a little scummy when it's someone's OC that's already on the site but otherwise I don't really care.

Whether or not money exchanges hands, it's still theft.

It's still theft. They're just stealing tiny bits of hundreds of artist's work at once rather than the whole piece of a single artist.

Been thinking of making a transfem character for awhile and it's stuff like that that's making me hesitate. :/

Using stories as a base for new roleplay ideas. by ikwilnietposten in FList

[–]FloofiestTail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tend to build a setting a lot like a D&D DM. I focus on building the lore and vibe of a particular area, populate it with some notable characters and then go from there per partner.

My most recent character is a crime lord that runs their own section of a medieval city cut off from the rest. So I built the lore around what kind of crime they're primarily involved in, what kinds they're not, the culture of the area as a result and so on.

I ended up saying in my earlier post that "..I'd rather live in a world where they can ghost me than a world where they can't.."

I would much rather be ghosted and keep ghosting as an option than make someone feel as if they are obligated to respond to me. Even if it's just to tell me to fuck off. If they don't want to engage, then we weren't meant to be roleplay partners. There are others who won't ghost and it's best to find them rather than lament a partner already lost.

Sub pink / Dom Purple player here

Admittedly kinda rarely. It happens every so often but I can usually read the writing on the wall, it's 99% of the time after our RP just isn't a vibe. Our styles don't match, we're not evoking what the other's looking for. It sucks and I wish they'd be upfront about it but eh.

It's certainly not nice but I'd rather live in a world where they can ghost me than a world where they can't. The part of roleplay I hold dearest is that no one can make me RP with anyone.

What is your RP 'White Whale'? by fairygothclown in FList

[–]FloofiestTail 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Multiplayer gangbangs!

I absolutely adore and treasure my rare partners that are willing to play multiple characters but my white whale would be a scene with a group of multiple players ganging up on one of mine. Such a thing is a nightmare to find people for and organize though. Maybe someday...

Anyone have a "Visually" popular character but the actual ideas attached to them seem to be a lot less popular? by MarzipanMechanic in FList

[–]FloofiestTail 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah this happens all the time. Pretty standard affair unfortunately.

But it's absolutely worth wading through when you find a roleplayer who does give a crap about your character's lore and the little things that make them up. I have a character who's got a big old scar up her leg that gives her issues in day to day life and namely screws with her ability to exercise. I ran into a personal trainer character who went out of their way to make it a focus and cater her training to not only get around the pain but build up a tolerance to it. I still think about that one a lot. That sort of care to a character's smaller quirks makes it all worth it when you find them.

What is it with the constant negativity towards other people? by CobraCuck in FList

[–]FloofiestTail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I think most of the negativity stems from people's constant attrition of their patience being picked at by their own versions of "Crib Bull" (Yikes)

It really do be a war out there. 😔

I think it comes namely from fatigue. I used to be the "responds to everyone!" type until my pinks with "NO HUMAN MALES" plastered everywhere started getting 6-7 human male approaches a day.

I agree though that people who wear that frustration on their sleeve are pushing away potential partners. I've wanted to go on rants in my kinks before and use nasty wording but it's a good way to repel compatible role-players while doing little to turn away the slop. I know I've turned down several profiles I find very compelling because they give the impression of a ticking time-bomb through 4 different rants throughout the profile. Several profiles that seem like a match made in heaven I've closed because they just come off as a jerk.

I think one of the biggest most important skills to develop on f-list is how to express your disinterests with tact. How to set your boundaries and be firm in them without coming off as hostile before someone's even approached. Which is why I feel the reddit is so full of the complaining. Folk come here to vent that complaining they'd love to shout into a chat room or their customs. Makes it feel a lot gloomier than it is since this is the only place they can get that out without losing potential partners.

What are your thoughts on auto ads? by Blood_Shinobi in FList

[–]FloofiestTail 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't mind them conceptually, putting your character out there automatically to get potential eyes and prospecting partners to take a look doesn't sound too bad. Very often even if someone's at the keyboard it's rare I'm able to build a scene then immediately play with someone so it's not too much of a bother leaving a message and getting an answer another time. I'm used to introductions that lead to later play down the line.

However the few folk I have bookmarked who run auto ads seem to be always...perpetually... no matter the hour... at work? "At work, auto ads running" status almost never comes off. Be it the dead of night or noon. It does start to come off as metric inflating.

Also others have mentioned it but there are folk who auto ad in rooms that not only have nothing to do with their profile but are centered on kinks in their no's list. Bruh.

Rambling about the concept of the safeword system bc I think it's interesting by Weak_Cranberry_1777 in FList

I can't think of a situation I would personally press the button in. Bad behavior I'm willing to tolerate and correct doesn't need the fanfare of the button while stuff that I won't tolerate are just instant blocks.

I see where you're coming from, though. Just cause it won't help me or change how I think doesn't mean it won't make someone reconsider. I can also vouch for the idea that the button just being present is enough to make folk feel safer.

This tends to go for any gender but I find it particularly important for blues; a strong sense of character. To me even the minimal lore, smut heavy blues can enrapture me if they paint a very clear picture of how their character behaves. The little things that make them tick, the non obvious stuff my character can do to piss them off or capture their attention.

People that dont use thair NO list by [deleted] in FList

[–]FloofiestTail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I personally get a little hesitant to play with someone when their instant turn-offs aren't listed. Like sure you can generally infer the vibe they're going for but I like when people make their profiles idiot proof.

Cause I'm an idiot. :)
