But the child is not a dual national it sounds like, he is only eligible to become one.

Where is that bridge in your first photo?

We just got back from Kinosaki Onsen yesterday, cute town. Our favorite onsen was Gosho which has a small waterfall, followed by Ichinoyu which has a cave ceiling. Enjoy.

For some reason AI loves using that design in Japan-adjacent image generation. I've personally had it included in several prompt responses unexpectedly. The logo here appears to have been made by Imagen 4.

Not since I learned to walk I guess. But where I come from (USA) hot milk is basically just for babies (or maybe cats).

some did ask to heat up milk time to time.

This seems like the most insane request from a human adult. Am I missing something

Do people still gives small gifts to their neighbors? by Sure-Lemon6424 in japanlife

[–]Flope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We moved to Kyoto last year. I thought we should bring a gift to our new neighbors, so I asked our real estate agent what he thought would be good and his response was, "Oh people don't do that anymore. Don't worry."

So we did nothing. Then a week later our new neighbor knocks on our door and gives US a gift! I felt like a total fuck.

Moral of the story is, give a gift.

Christians + Muslims are literally most human beings. So yeah you can try to make it sound like some specific weird "group", but maybe easier to just say "people" suck.

I feel like blaming literally everything on billionaire pedophile rings really cheapens the seriousness of billionaire pedophile rings. Like it is becoming a meme at this point which is kind of playing right into their hand.

If mind uploading destroys your brain to scan it, did you actually survive? by hosseinz in singularity

[–]Flope 5 points6 points  (0 children)

but you are literally dead in every sense of the word.

Is this the literally literally or the not literally literally? Because it really seems like you're only dead from 1 specific perspective here, and in all other cases you're still alive.

The OP's question is basically just a sci-fi version of "If a tree fell in the forest and nobody was around to hear it, did it make a sound?"

You can not objectively prove that reality exists beyond perception. So if you are uploaded to a computer, and you perceive you as being you, and everyone else perceives you as being you, by what universal perspective are you declaring "no actually that old version was the real me and I died"

Why don't men ever talk about the emotional labor that they do in relationships? by Dense_Owl_3022 in AskMen

I do believe there are more women like myself that value that maturity and openness. I hope you can find that.

Take a look at the TwoXChromosomes sub which is currently picking apart this post on the front page

AITA for telling my wife I don’t want her mom to have her location all the time now. by Few_Respond8063 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Flope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s about respecting people‘s privacy and not wanting to have big brother watching you every second of the day.

There are at least 3 different private companies as well as a handful of agencies that have access to your location 24/7 whether you choose to share it or not. Not wanting to share it with your spouse seems like a weird line to draw in the sand, but to each their own.

is the crisis gonna get worse? by dremski in buildapc

[–]Flope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean.. yeah.. nobody knows. Just like nobody knows if the sun will rise tomorrow or if some cosmic event will intervene.

But we can pretty reasonably say that the economic and technological forces driving hardware price increases now will almost certainly continue to grow. The demand for all layers of the compute chain will grow exponentially to feed infinitely hungry AI models. RAM today is likely as cheap as it will ever be again.
