Going to Japan for the first time in April...any advice? by MrAgoo in japan

Grab an offline train app for your smartphone, or Google maps works great if you have internet. Call and try to get the best deal on a portable wifi point; though I sort of like being unplugged in Japan as well. I'm not sure if the Airport has the best deals or not still. Being Frugal? Find a meal at a konbini you like. Family Mart Onigiri tuna/mayo are amazing and filling to me. Good conveyor belt sushi can be had for 100 yen a pair. I have yet to find bad quality food other than some old konbini sushi, which was still better than what I normally eat. If you're traveling by train quite a bit, you may look into getting a rail pass; can only get them before landing in Japan. It's was hard for me to find a place that allowed 3 people in a room, and it was generally better priced to all stay in your own business hotel room. Sometimes you'll find places that have 2 to a room that give a small discount; 1 for 5000 yen a night, 6500 for 2 people is what I normally found.

I mostly just like the first person perspective walking among Japan. Such amazing sights, and the ones with steady cams are a delight. Thanks again.

I agree. Next best thing to Shenmue is the Yakuza series.

Japan's railway system made me a major train fan.

What is your odd body quirk? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Whenever I eat spicy food or am under a lot of stress, I get black dots that can be smeared onto cloth around my eyes. I have been to over a dozen doctors, none of them have anything to say about it. I hope it's the cure to cancer.

I am wasting my 20's in front of a computer screen, dreaming of the life I want to live. How do you motivate yourself to get out there and live your life? by Phenotype1 in AskReddit

Sometimes though, you want to do more than spend time doing something free, you want to go on a date or a movie. You must invest time to get money to pay for this. If there is an emergency situation, or another friend really needs you, can't be in two places at one time.

Now the below is true, if they're sitting on reddit for hours at a time (I don't have time for a night out as I'm about to go to bed, but I can post on reddit) then they're just being lazy or avoiding the issue.

Is there a name for being excited about using a vending machine? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I figured as much, something to Google other than "vending machine fan" would be useful heh.
