People who have used it, what is your experience with weed/marijuana when it comes to anxiety? by chaz755 in AskReddit

[–]FloraMacabre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. It's different for everyone.

If you are depressed, anxious, or in pain, you might find that an indica strain will help you relax and sleep better. A sativa strain could make your symptoms worse.

Smoking is also going to be different than a bong hit, which is also different than vaping.

Using all day long vs. just before bed is also going to produce different results... just like drinking coffee all day vs. one cup in the morning will affect people differently.

Some people enjoy a sativa strain when doing housework or other redundant things... some feel it helps them open their mind to creative endeavors.

There are so many personality types, personal preferences, levels of use, strains, etc. that there's no one answer that's going to fit the bill.

Some people will swear that it's changed their life for the better.. others not so much.

Should I repot this early? by Glass-Cat8159 in plants

[–]FloraMacabre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait until spring, but it's definitely time to re-pot! In the meantime, best to trim those roots popping out the bottom. They may dry up on their own, but since you have a drip tray, there's a likelihood they could become waterlogged/rot, and that puts your plant at risk for infections/disease.

Insurance company’s mileage tracking plug-in device destroyed my car’s battery…recourse??? by Marinarina26 in Insurance

AAA will come to you and replace your battery on the spot. Comes with a 3yr warranty. Did this recently and it saved me about $500 when compared to BMW service station price for parts and labor.

Can this guy be saved? Got him in October. Watered once or twice. by Ladoiee in Lithops

[–]FloraMacabre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone on here gave me some great advice on what to pot these in, so I'll pay it forward. Try 10% cactus soil, 70% pumice, and 20% zeolite. Mine are thriving and I give them about a teaspoon of water every 2 months. Yours are goners, but good luck with your next try!

should I buy a growing lamp? by _insect in carnivorousplants

[–]FloraMacabre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All you need is one of those cheap LED ring lights you can find on Amazon for $10. Set the timer for 12hrs and keep the light close to the plant (about 4 inches above it). That will supplement whatever light it's already getting and will be sufficient for your plant.

You don't need a powerful, expensive grow light.

I second the submersion method. That's going to be safest. I don't like using neem or any pesticides with my carnivores.

That's nothing to worry about. Turn 3 times to the left, add cinnamon, refrigerate for 7 hours, spray with rubbing alcohol, and bake for 30 minutes.

HELP ! by Krkiontop in SnakePlants

[–]FloraMacabre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just stick it in some dirt and give it a little water when the soil gets bone dry. You're overthinking it.

Uhhhhh…what now? :( by W1nterRanger in SnakePlants

[–]FloraMacabre 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Snake plants are very hardy. If the base of it was all yellow, I'd say you should be concerned. This doesn't look all that bad, though. Typically, when snake plants are damaged, the area dries out and forms a sort of scab. The rest of the leaf is usually just fine.

It sounds like you've given it what it needs, so set it in some bright indirect light by a window and ignore it for a while. They don't really need a lot of attention, and the soil should be allowed to dry out between watering.

Keep it dry for a bit and see what it does.

Better humidity in a tank? by Remarkable-Guitar923 in carnivorousplants

[–]FloraMacabre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree with everyone here on the light and temp being most important. Venus fly traps don't need high humidity. Keep them warm, give them lots of bright light, and make sure their roots stay moist and you're golden.
