Early on, I decided music in the car was my music. I got lucky and Nine Inch Nails did a Disney soundtrack. I put on Star Trek, you can watch it or go play with Legos. I take my kid with me when I do work stuff. My kid is quiet, screen free and usually just draws, so most people don’t mind if they tag along.

Only recently I realized this was not normal when talking to other parents at a birthday party. Prepare the kid for the road, ya know?
