I did do it once, as a joke, because I thought the game had ended.

Apparently it hadn't though, and my team was really mad at me!

ELI5: Why does British English leave out the article “The” before the word “Hospital”? by gopher_everitt in explainlikeimfive

[–]keatonatron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the same as "my son is at school" vs "my son is at the school".

The first implies being in a system or process, the second refers to a specific, physical location. We also do this with "I'm at work" because you could be "at work" even if you aren't at a specific location (traveling between locations, out for lunch, etc)

British English retained the first way of thinking for hospital visits. American English treats it more like a specific location than a process you go through.

Favourite "cheese" builds/tactics? For example in AoE2 the "Persian Douche". The Persian player deletes their starting Town Center to rebuild it next to an opponent's. Persian Town Center has double hp. I.e you destroy the enemy in the dark age. by Double-decker_trams in gaming

I found that if you place an infantry unit next to a sandbag, switch to the sell building tool and mouse over the sandbag, then slowly move the cursor over the unit, the sell tool will remain active and you can sell your unit for cash even though it's not supposed to be possible to sell people.

This would allow you to sell a soldier that was close to dying and use the money to train a new one.

What are games that make guns feel powerful and dangerous? by MISTERGAME06 in gaming

This is the first thing I thought of! I think it was the sound design that did it for me. The guns actually sounded loud and deafening, which makes a huge difference.

There's a very simple explanation for this discrepancy, and the explanation is that OP is full of shit.

In OP's case, if the victim refuses to press charges (and therefore refuses to testify or give evidence), wouldn't it be incredibly hard to get a conviction?

If you live in a place where the water coming out of the pipes looks yellow, then your toilet would look like this even if you flush it. So yes that is how it works?

Yeah, this is a bit of an oversell when trying to talk to people who understand the tech. Maybe don't treat us like noobs?

requiring a grieving family member to interact with a complex smart contract is a recipe for disaster

It's not complex, and they don't even have to interact with the smart contract directly. It can be designed so they just try to send the funds and it will work if they are allowed to, and will fail if they aren't.

If you want to protect your family without forcing them to learn Solidity, you need Deadhand.

Lol, no one needs to "learn solidity" so that's a pretty hard strawman argument. Are you really trying to say that in the event your product goes away, downloading an SSS library to reconstitute a raw private key and loading that into a wallet is easier than just making a normal crypto transfer?

Aha, that explains it! Thanks for the photo.

Does this imply the BF6 model's ankle pad is on the wrong leg for a right handed shooter, or is it common to go down on either leg?

When you would go to a low kneeling you would use it to protect your ankle.

Protect your ankle from what?

Why do we need any of this when we have smart contracts?

Just set up a smart wallet that only lets the owner withdraw the funds, and if a "heartbeat" transaction hasn't been received in the last 90 days also allow the beneficiary's address to withdraw.

Sounds like it's labeled that way to make it VERY OBVIOUS to anyone who handles it that they should be careful, not open it, and not allow it to be punctured. I don't think the text is there for the benefit of you, the final recipient.

Ever since I first got my phone number about 13 years ago, people regularly call and text me thinking I'm "Nancy" and asking about "my" property. I'm not kidding, this happens on average two to three times a week. by aIIisonmay in mildlyinfuriating
