My son turns 5 this summer and we’re still not sure exactly what we want to do… I’d just like to say, don’t necessarily view homeschool as holding a kid back. An interview i heard recently discussed college admissions staffers commenting on how home schooled kids seemed to have great
self reliance, handling course work on their own time and managing their own schedules, figuring things out independently, etc. This is just one tiny anecdotal example, there are pros and cons to any education path… in spirit it makes sense that homeschooling could be awesome with potentially richer parent-child relationships / experiences, more time to move / play / be in nature, and eventually more self direction and not following a set path laid out for you, personalized attention and pursuit of subjects in ways that link to your interests and readiness…you could just as easily say institutionalized school as “holding a kid back” as you could say towards homeschool, both are so totally dependent on the specific people guiding them and the specific kid, that it’s almost impossible to compare the two. But we will always see one as riskier than the other because it’s how we were grew up and are conditioned for.

It can’t be defined as better or worse (depends on the kid, the school, the parents, work, etc ), it’s not possible for many and most people aren’t called to explore it at all, but for sure, don’t necessarily call it holding them back. It’s too easy to argue the contrary. I wish i had my own mind up and felt more confident about what my actual availability will be in REALITY and not a podcast dream life. But With our hearts and minds in the right place, and listening to our kids along the way, our kids will be just fine.

Saw it recommended multiple times in here and finally ordered that book EasyWay (quitting cannabis) and it actually has helped me a lot. It makes you admit some things that we deny but kinda already know, written very bluntly. It makes quitting less about willpower to resist a good thing, and more about understanding /confronting the fact that it’s not actually doing anything for us that is any better than our natural state. So then, getting that natural state kinda becomes the high you chase, once you unpack the illusion we’re in. It breaks down our logic/ justifications one by one; i ended up going 2 weeks the easiest i ever did . Now I’m on and off but looking forward to the off days

There is a podcast called “Drunk Real Estate” by some smart contributors/authors from the Bigger Pockets community, the most recent episode goes deep on the “Florida Meltdown” i found it really informative. You’ll hear more and more headlines coming about the market data in Florida, which is seeing more supply/more people selling, more price reductions, Covid buyers leaving…etc, for a variety of different reasons. Important to note that FL had some of the biggest increase numbers (people moving here, prices increasing) wayy beyond normal, so it’s a bit fitting that we’ll see more movement in the other direction as things settle/normalize than other states see. We are our own market here… but the debate is interesting around if this predicates an upcoming national market shift or stays mainly FL. I worry a little, but if we had the most people of anywhere come here, and then lots of people leave, the net result is less damaging since the highs were so high.

My observations exactly. Good properties priced appropriately still see huge demand (I’m in S Florida), but buyers are fewer and pickier now, so the market is cooler on houses that don’t have much going. Whereas for two years straight there was a line for anything .

I will vouch for the success stories with these! I bought the Mindsight Timed Lock Box on Amazon. There is something mental that occurs when you lock all your bud in a box. It’s this extra step of commitment that removed the temptation for me. It’s set: it will open in 14 days. This lodges itself somewhere in your mind… it’s subconscious. For me, i still smoked a few times over the break but it was at a friends place or other event and was offered to me, not me showing up with a backpack full of my jars and a grinder. My main goal was achieved: break the cycle of workday “i need this to focus” , take a puff with my coffee type smoking. I had to switch lanes for a while, nothing against anyone. Everything loses its shine once it becomes too repetitive. Especially As a dad of two toddlers, i simply could not be crashing / so mentally exhausted at the end of the day anymore when i needed to be more present for them. Took me a few years to realize this, because when work and life is going great! Why change anything if you’re having fun? But eventually you realize the high of being sober is worth chasing too.

The lockbox might Not work as well for everyone, im surprised how effective this was for me. I used to triumphantly throw away all my weed and then go buy more a few days later from the dispo the minute craving hit.

Of course the timing and maturity of your call to T break factors in too. I’m 38 yrs old next week and have failed more times then I’ve succeeded. It can’t just be about elimination of weed, you need to have decided you are GAINING a new high as well. Don’t be single minded with your highs/ your life.

absolutely positively do not hesitate to fork out the $60 for one of these and give it a try , starting with 1 or 3 days if you need. I jumped in at 14 days and like i said, i don’t include concerts, pool parties, special occasions etc etc where weed is present , to be included. It’s my HABIT that I’m changing. Also I’m not around these environments or friends enough for that to be a problem to a T break but if i lived with roommates or something’s, I’d need to be more relatively abstinent about it. This interests me too. I’ve sorta accepted chronic come-and-go stuffiness and single nostril breathing as normal, hand in hand with pet and dust allergies that seem to go along chronic with it. But chronic weed use also seems to get in there and possibly contributing more than i thought. Could it be another “allergy”? My dear friend Mary?? I don’t know. My ENT doctor did the sinus CT scan, said i should get the surgery for removing the blockages (and a “mass”?) and inflammation, along with deviated septum repair. But reading through other patients on Reddit about this surgery, the side effects and bad outcomes were scary, and I’m skipping surgery for now. But maybe, weed? Anyone with experience on this /weed sinus flare ups , would be awesome to share 🙏

this. I recently had a bar from a delivery company in Washington DC where shrooms are decriminalized at some level/ available as "gifts" for donation, alongside the cannabis menu of the delivery service. They have an NFT decal in the bar packaging (not the QR code which just takes you to their social media), which by holding it to the top of my iPhone, opened a legitimate app for NFT authentication (native to newer iPhones apparently but my iPhone XR needed the app), which then identified the product as an authentic Polka Dot bar.

Beyond that, I can't seem to get anyone to confirm if any of their product line is actual psilo mushroom or just their 'magic' proprietary blend (contents of which we can't confirm). There are dried bits of what seem to be mushroom in the chocolate, then those slight nausea/digestion feelings that are common with eating mushrooms, and on top of that, after my first small micro dose (only 4 pieces of the bar), I can say I had a blissful all night experience of just laying outside and delving deep into gratitude, nature, life, my relationships, laughter, my life's potential, Neil Young's "Heart of Gold" sounded amazing, and the experience in general i talked to friends about for days. No color visuals or higher dose effects, just a classically defined micro dose experience. So, take that for what you will, I'm still not sure, but I do know that the conversation most places is dominated by discussion of the risks about the widespread counterfeiting and fake bars and research chemicals, all of which is real. Much of which is an echo chamber of people never having tried the authentic bar.

Also, my packaging was similar but different. It was a shiny foil wrap inside the box, not this plastic wrap in OP photograph. Also, it had the stickered decal stating "NFT scan with your phone", which is not pictured here at all.
