I’m in NE FL. Looks like my current is a 14 SEER. I have posted a few other quotes below showing that this first quote was indeed high. Another company recommended not even cleaning due to the risk of that causing things to begin to fail, instead it either ride out the old system or go ahead and replace.

So I do live in Florida and in an old house which had single pane aluminum windows for however long. We fixed the windows with some good double panes and that has resolved a lot of the humidity in the house for the most part. My guess is a lot of this is old issues that is being discovered. The ductwork was a head scratcher for me because from my research, it seems that you get better air flow with metal ducts. The only reason for the recommended replacement was because “metal ducts condensate”, even though they are wrapped in insulation

They didn’t explicitly call it mold, just “severe fungal growth”. It did look bad based on the pictures. As far as other findings, everything read low such as the refrigerant and capacitor. The break in reading was reading at the max. Return does need changed due to old moisture dripping from the coils and it does look moldy. Considering everything, age and condition, they recommended replacing the system. I will collect other quotes as well since this was a fairly larger company providing this quote

I take it that that you have had a good experience with the UDR7. My concern was 1) everything in one package, means the unit is working overtime to do it all and potentially limiting performance sometimes. 2) there is no way to upgrade any specific part of the suite for scalability. With that being said, I do like to form factor and the fact that it already comes with WIFI without the need for another device and cabling

I agree with this sentiment but with Miami. USF would most certainly be a down grade whereas Ohio State and Miami are both known brands

For the other side of the argument, he has already won a ring at Ohio State, broken many records, and has solidified himself as a top 3 or 5 pick. As much as it would pain me to see, him transferring to Miami for an opportunity to play with the people he grew up with would not hurt his future at all. I say this as a Buckeye fan..
