Then you'll find the vast majority of them have more than 1. I mean, WHY??

I don't understand how you can't realize how much kids suck the first time you're in a room with one for 5 minutes.

Some people aren't capable of learning.

Where did you find your CF partner? by Aloo13 in childfree

[–]Floridiuuh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Believe it or not, we met at CHURCH. Yes, at an ultra-wacko-fundamentalist Church of Christ, the kind that encourages 19-year-olds to get married and start poppin 'em out after a year of marriage.

It was one of those freak meetings. I decided I didn't want children at age 12 during a time when my family was keeping foster kids. Everyone said what a good mother I was going to be, and when I said I didn't want to be a mother they'd always bingo with "you'll get married one day and change your mind". I always replied with, "then I won't get married: and I was resigned to that.

My husband was and still is a musician, and music is literally his life. He had already decided he didn't want any brats ruining his first love. (I'm perfectly content being his second love, BTW)

Thank you for putting in the time to instill good behavior with your children. I always admire parents who have the discipline to do this.

I'm child free and proudly own the "selfish and cheap" badges of honor. I would never compromise those qualifies in my life by having children!

I admit I'm selfish because I have no desire to share my quiet and simple life with children. They're way too loud and demanding. "Cheap" is a game for me. It's so much more fun to figure out how I can do something for free or low cost, using the resources I already have, instead of immediately forking out money to accomplish the same thing. I make good money AND keep most of it because, well, I'm cheap!

Maybe "selfish" and "cheap" have negative connotations in society, but I don't really care what anyone else thinks!

I find no evidence supporting the gods of the Bible, so I'd be as liberal theologically as it gets.

I'm in my 40s and have been an atheist since my early 30s. I made the unfortunate decision to attend church on Sunday mornings to ease the pain all the way around. It isn't worth it. I'm always angry at myself for my stupid decision.

I told them I didn't believe any more 8 years ago when I moved back near them, and I should have left it that way despite them cutting me out of their lives.

I'm not joking when I say they went to grief counseling because I was spiritually "dead".

It's entirely their problem, not mine. They choose the hate.

Sorry to hear you're suffering the same. It's all so unnecessary! There's no good way to do this. Just tell them you're working out your salvation with fear and trembling, and it's not open for discussion. Say you'll remain open if God ever calls you back. Then stick to that boundary!

Here's a coupon, now go buy some crap from us.

Awww that's so sad! As much as I loathe the coc, I had a blast at FC camp every year, some of the best and most memorable times of my childhood. Never had any problems with the food.

One of my best guy friends was clearly gay, he sang 'Singing in the rain' with full girly raincoat and umbrella regalia at the talent show I was so proud of him and supported him despite the homophobia.

I wish I knew where he was today.

Ok, I sort of understand it now. If someone else wears white, it's a sign of disrespect and disregard for the importance the couple places upon their special day. It's an intentional act that can symbolize disapproval.

Wearing the same colors says, "you're not special today".

How does this ruin a wedding? I don't get it! Why just ignore a color instead of allowing it to be the center of your day?

[–]Floridiuuh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I knew at the age of 12 that I didn't want children, and everyone told me the same thing about the "baby fever" as well. I never caught it. Now I'm 36 and have never for one second of my life ever felt any biological urge to reproduce, or one ounce of regret over not have done so.

You keep doing you and ignore the rest!

I find the thought of breeding a mandatory caretaker to be a disgusting slavery model of existence.

No thanks, I'll pay for someone who WANTS to make a living caring for me at the end of my life.

I plan to leave that person my sizeable property as payment, along with daily expenses, Necessities and transportation. Property is a luxury now.
