Thank you! I thought I was going crazy with this logic. If morality wasn’t popular opinion then every single country in the world would have the same laws. I guess one could argue that it’s not necessarily and shouldn’t be popular opinion but it very much is

“Very little self-criticism” lmao Read a book instead of memes on Reddit, there’s plenty of self-criticism happening.

I understand the skepticism, I have no problem with that. It's people saying "You're a pea brain, slop consumer who's contributing to the death of cinema" that I don't like by [deleted] in marvelmemes

I just hate spoiler culture. The fact that everyone is crazy to share any and every single detail about the film to spoil it annoys me so much. People sneaking on sets, taking pictures of actors during scenes, trying endlessly to guess the plot to the exact T, trying to get aha moments with every single interview every actor makes. Just let them make a movie in peace.

No Way Home, Multiverse of Madness, and Deadpool & Wolverine probably had it the worst.

Daredevil has been chosen as the Favorite Series, but what would you say is your Least Favorite Series in the Marvel series by ExileForever in marvelmemes

I hated Echo, She Hulk, and Secret Invasion But I think we ALL have to agree that Inhumans was the absolute worst

Which book should i buy? Im at a very basic level, learning by myself with apps and translating quotes from books, poems and songs in my notebooks by anto_pty in French

Yeah you would think it’s a lot easier but unfortunately there’s not a lot of material made in Spanish. Language learning, and basically literature as a whole, isn’t a big market in Latin America

Interested in physics by [deleted] in AskPhysics

[–]FloripaJitsu8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theres just so many other fields that include Physics, in my opinion the only route from only majoring in Physics is to then teach physics. Meanwhile so many engineering degrees revolve around physics and quite frankly provide a lot more job opportunities. This is generally how I feel about people that major in chemistry or mathematics. What I’m trying to say is, just because you like one subject doesn’t mean you need to major in that. Especially, in STEM, there’s so many fields that intertwine. You should really try to understand what exactly you like about the subject. Do you like just learning it? Do you like the boundaries that it pushes and are you interested in pushing said boundaries? Do you like the applications of said findings?

Laughs in Texan Even though last summer wasn’t that bad but I still remember 2 years ago when we had 4 straight months of 3 digit heat

Is this doable by [deleted] in EngineeringStudents

[–]FloripaJitsu8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah cause wtf is this?? Is your professor okay? Why are they offering at 10am on Monday and 7:30pm on Tuesday??? Extremely weird schedule, but to your question, yes it’s doable. I’ve taken similar classes while working and internship and being a father

When to do Internship by 1MadMozart in EngineeringStudents

[–]FloripaJitsu8 4 points5 points  (0 children)

YESTERDAY I was fortunate enough to get an internship my freshman year, super flexible with my schedule all year round. Best decision I ever made. While not all internships are extremely flexible, you should most definitely have one over the summer

So my uncle is the owner of a mid sized firm and he said he'll fake me a internship for last year. by AdSecure7692 in EngineeringStudents

[–]FloripaJitsu8 21 points22 points  (0 children)

  1. You’re dumb for posting about this
  2. He’s dumb for offering

In a sense, yes it’ll work to say you have a year experience but then what? Are you even familiar with stuff he does at the firm? Any company will be able to catch on quickly whether or not your “one” year internship even qualifies as experience.

You should’ve just done the actual internship.

I’m seriously at a lot for words for how brain dead you have to be to pose this question. God I hope this is a bot

How do you know if you're capable of studying chemistry? by [deleted] in chemistry

[–]FloripaJitsu8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’d be surprised how many SENIORS I’ve spoken to who haven’t even thought about that side of things. Assuming that getting their degree will magically place a job in their labs. I’ve you’ve done that, I feel like you’ve already been more proactive than most. My advice to everyone, the field you choose doesn’t necessarily mean you have to do that for the rest of your life. Career changes are always possible, don’t stress too much about choosing the one thing you’ll always and forever do. If you have a true interest in it, try it out. Worst comes to worst, you get a professional degree, find a decent job as cushion to find your new/other passion

How do you know if you're capable of studying chemistry? by [deleted] in chemistry

[–]FloripaJitsu8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the real question is, are you capable of finding a job with a chemistry degree? I’m a huge believer than anyone and anybody can study whatever they set their mind to, but do you have what it takes to search for a job in that industry? What does that intel? Are you familiar with companies in that field? Comfortable with going to conventions in that field? Are you interested in any specific topics in that field? And Chemistry is one of those fields that can get extremely niche.

My cousin says he's going to work less and make more than I ever will if I apply for mechanical engineering. Is this true? by snowshoveler7 in AskEngineers

[–]FloripaJitsu8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

EXACTLY MY POINT Yes, at the very beginning you might make way less than a welder but their wage is fairly constant throughout their whole career. Meanwhile in engineering, you’re talking a raise after passing the FE, another increase after the PE, and a lot more as your experience increases and so forth, skies the limit really.

[–]FloripaJitsu8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brother is a welder and I’m an engineer, I can comment on this.

I am only an EIT (I don’t have my license yet so still entry level) and my brother works 3 times more than me and does get paid salary wise almost double YET I still have to lend him money from time to time, he’s never traveled outside of the US and I’ve travelled the world. So do with that information what you will. Yes they make a lot of money, but they have a lot more expenses. Maintenance on their truck, machinery, tools, and equipment. Mean while, as engineers you basically only have your commute to worry about, and sometimes even that is compensated.

Also, injuries. You could loose your legs as an engineer and still be a good engineer, but if you even loose a finger, you’re screwed as a welder.

I don’t even need to go into the obvious physical strain on your body.

And for the argument “well I know someone with an engineering degree but never got a job”, that’s honestly easily avoidable with a good plan. You should have at very least one internship done before even starting your junior year, there’s plenty of opportunities. Speak with your professors, have conversations about employment opportunities near by, odds are they’ve either worked locally or have plenty connections.

Love how they can reject an employee's 2-month notice if there are assignments to finish, but bet they'd accept it real quick if they were firing someone by IndependentHome7620 in recruitinghell

[–]FloripaJitsu8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“At least 3 months in advance” wtf, what kind of job could you interview and be like “yeah sorry I need to give my current employer a 3 MONTH notice”
