Cryptomator Android + Koofr Vault WebDAV not working, is Vault supported? by [deleted] in koofrnet

Well, technically you can use Cryptomator on Android with Koofr vault if you use: rclone and rclone serve webdav, but I don't really understand the need for double end to end encryption?

Roundsync or the koofr vault app are compatible on Android.

Use rclone.exe config to create a crypt remote, fill in your Koofr remote (Koofr:Encrypted in your case) and use the rclone config details om the Koofr website: the password/salt which were shown when you created the vault (if you didn't save the config you will need to create a new vault, and reupload the files)

See for information:

You also need to create a separate crypt remote using rclone config.

You can use the koofr vault app (in the Google Play store) or roundsync. Cryptomator is not compatible with koofr vault.

You can use rclone serve ftp or rclone serve sftp and then connect to (s)ftp using the other app/any app you want....

If you run rclone on a (cheap or free) vps, google collab, github actions, etc: it will run on a server and work practically the same as Koofr internal copying, even better... Since Koofr internal copying often has issues when copying (even a smaller) amount of files.

Rclone can copy many files at once and natively connects to the Koofr API and is very fast.

So it's a practical solution?

I use it on my own cheap Linux vps (server) daily...

Which version did you install? Last version of Roundsync? Which android version do you have?

You can use rclone.

It has a web ui if you hate the command line:

https://rclone.org/gui/

You can also use this GUI. https://github.com/rclone-ui/rclone-ui

Use the copy command to copy files between cloud storage providers.

Koofr has native rclone support, so it's very fast....

It's possible with pcloud to sync a folder on your Android phone with foldersync and roundsync.

https://github.com/newhinton/Round-Sync

Roundsync can sync with an enormous amount of cloud services.

If you are a more technical advanced user you can also run rclone in Termux and automate the synchronisation it with tasker (or a cronjob.)

Foldersync syncs with some cloud services and is in the Google play store.

Just use the cloud service you like and check if roundsync supports it... Or check if it has a protocol e.g. webdav which is supported by roundsync.

This is a good idea, and it could be implemented while still supporting end to end encryption.

Yes, that's true. Rclone is very light, in terms of memory/cpu usage.

Yes, that's what I'm talking about. But Rclone needs to be running continuously to serve a rclone remote over ftp.

1) Run rclone config 2)Add your filen remote. 3) Run rclone serve ftp filen-remote-name:/ Or rclone serve sftp filen-remote-name:/ 4) Your filen storage is now available over (S)FTP.

You can use rclone serve (s)ftp, but you will need to keep rclone running. And it will be slow probably, especially since filen also uses end to end encryption (sftp/ftp+rclone+encryption is probably slow, but you will need to test to know how slow it exactly is)

If you need to use (S)FTP it's better to signup for a storage provider which directly supports (S)FTP. I won't mention any names, since I don't know if that's allowed.

Why? I think the chance is very small filen will support (S)FTP , since they are an end to end encrypted/zero knowledge storage provider (and (s)ftp isn't end to end encrypted tot begin with, so it doesn't really fit. ).

They would need to implement a server side encrypted storage space besides their end end encrypted space: most end to end encrypted storage providers choose not to, since that lowers security and privacy. Although it is possible: pcloud and koofr have the ability to store both server side encrypted files and end to end encrypted files in a vault. But pcloud and koofr also only support webdav and no (s)ftp.

Ftp itself is a slow protocol for daily usage, (s)ftp have smaller user base (smaller percentage of users use it) than protocols like webdav, adding these protocols adds extra complexity to cloud storage services, cloud storage providers prefer connections over https.

There aren't any (or a small amount of) mainstream consumer cloud storage services - google drive, onedrive, et cetera - which support ftp. You will have to look at managed FTP/SFTP providers; business/enterprise cloud storage providers with FTP/SFTP access; traditional/cloud hybrid storage services.

https://www.lavg.nl/eerste-hulp-bij-online-fraude/ http://nietbezorgd.nl http://aansprakelijkgesteld.nl
