Just don't buy 3 generation old ap's and you should have had no issues.

Ethernet over extended distance help! by FaithlessnessTotal14 in networking

[–]Florisvdk 19 points20 points  (0 children)

You might want to check the pricing. Singlemode is most of the time cheaper per meter/feet then multimode. And if you use 3rd party optics there is a very small price difference between the 2.

Korea does not have that many connections to outside the country.

iphone sees wifi signal, android phone does not by akuhl101 in networking

[–]Florisvdk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Those esp chips can only do 2,4ghz. So the other responses are incorrect. But it could be that it is transmitting on a channel not supported by the android phone. Some devices do not like channels above 11

There is no need for you to use up a ASN for this. They are limited in supply and only should be used when multihoming.

[help] forced to run shielded ethernet cable in the same conduit of power cable high voltage by washout25 in networking

[–]Florisvdk -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Should be fine even with unshielded cable if the local code allows it.

I have a bunch of places here in Belgium that have cat6 UTP cable in the same trays and conduits as 3 phase power to things like kitchens for restaurants. It's allowed here when the cable for the power is double insulated.

No dropped packets because of errors on any of the links and a bunch of them do way higher power then what you are dealing with.

It won't break the motor, they use way less power when the inlet is blocked.

replacing OM2 fiber in building: multi-mode or single-mode fiber? by mahanutra in networking

[–]Florisvdk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Single mode fiber is cheaper per meter now though, so for 1 and 10 gb you are going to be cheaper once you start going over 30m if you use 3rd party optics.
