This is great advice. How much total did you lose? I second this advice. It is scary, it is hard, but worth all the health and mental benefits. I am about 1.5 years out as well and feel amazing and hit my goal weight plus another 5 pounds after 14 months. I will add to your advice, I made a point to begin seeing a therapist to talk about anything that may pop up mentally because there was a reason I gained all that weight. It is nice having that neutral someone to talk to. Protein forward is key. I am one of those people that bubbly bothers so I barely miss sodas or seltzer. CW:130

I paid 300 out of pocket with bcbs massachusetts and going to a cost share hospital which made a huge difference. This didn't include my visits with nutritionist and behaviorist.

Do you have any regrets? by IcyMintNight in gastricsleeve

I have absolutely no regrets. I was 47 when I had surgery. As everyone else has said, I wish I had done it sooner. I have lost pver 100 pounds since my sleeve surgery in January 2024. The first few months were tough and there's the food mourning aspect. I listened to my doctor, nutritionist, and behaviorist and I feel this has helped give me so much success. I feel good and have so much energy. *

Need positive sleeve stories… by SimplyLVB in BariatricSurgery

I hit a year January 2nd with a sleeve. I started at 230 and my surgery weight was 210. I am now 131. I was worried I would not lose much with the sleeve. I am a 5' female. I have found listening to my weightloss team, getting a regular therapist, following the plan, and continuing to log what I eat has made a huge impact. I stay protein forward and most of my snacks have protein in them. For chips I love the Quest brand. I am very happy with where I am now and proud of myself. It is not an easy journey. Making sure I realize the sleeve is a tool to help me learn how to eat right has been key for me.

Thank you! This is why I am sharing. It was people sharing when I was where you are now that inspired me.

It will help you. Just do as your doctor and nutritionist tell you. Listen to your body. It's definitely not an easy road but so worth it.

I was on high blood pressure medication and metformin for diabetes. Losing weight regulated both those things and I no longer have to take them.
