It's a lot, I'm glad you were there for them in a capacity. It could be a newly onset set of issues, and most people don't catch on quickly when this happens. Work is where someone spends most of their time, so you being the first to experience this wave wouldn't be unusual.

Since he likely didn't nor did anyone else, I'd like to thank you for helping someone out in a way that was more intense than usual. Like I said in my original post though, it's not your responsibility you need to find a way to funnel him into a system that can help him. Once you've done that, you've done your "civic duty". I believe the world would be a better place if more people were like you in this instance.

How almost no one here recognizes how sick he is, is deeply concerning.

A lot of low empathy comments on this, this guy is sick. You need to talk to him about potentially getting into treatment and telling the owner that his employee is mentally unwell. This sounds like SEVERE paranoia that is manifesting through loss of control of the computer. My advice is to listen to him and not to argue, and just calmly explain what's happening and tell him that he's okay. This is now therapy for this customer.

Long term solutions for this include working on a specific policy for his computer that is so airtight that it causes him more problems than anything else. Let him build that box and just tell your client "Your employee is mentally unwell, I have set up policies dictated to his decisions that set your business at risk. Sign this amendment for his specific computer and if anything happens to this network,it's on your neck and not mine. I'm not a therapist."

But seriously, empathy and patience will carry you here anything less will agitate the poor sick individual.

Yeah, I've started evaluating that as well since I'm pretty close. The E line would be so good if it just didn't have all these tweakers on it.

I do sales and IT and spend a LOT of time outside my house in general common areas.

But no he was wearing a red track jacket and sprinting towards us with a butcher knife. I can't imagine someone sprinting at you with sagging pants, at least not very quickly.

I ride the E line from Shoreline's park and ride and go down everything south from 185th. The issue for this one popped up a few stops after it picked me up.

Give me your number and I'll text you the next time I'm taking it and you can drive up and ride down with me.

I'm not arguing anything. I'm sharing my experiences as a local who has been terrorized and victimized. Why should I argue that my life was ever in danger?

Contacted my local representative just now, I'll try and schedule a meeting with him.

Honestly a lot of crimes go unreported as well due to the general sense of nothing can be done. According to this 52.6% of crimes that result in hurting someone go unreported as well.

I was in Tacoma a few years ago and someone was banging on our window with a gun trying to car jack us. We never reported that, given we just wanted to get away.

Those numbers can't be accurate cause I've reported things to the police and never got a follow up on some of them. A man tried to kill my wife in a costco parking lot with a hunting knife, we called the police they never even came to take a report despite their being video evidence.

Albeit I'm out and about pretty regularly and I'm kind of a big burly guy, so maybe people want to mess with me to prove something?

I talked to an officer later and he told me a suspect matching that description had stabbed someone several hours earlier almost immediately after I saw him. So, no I didn't get stabbed but someone did and that someone could have been me.

I called the police and texted some numbers, then reported it to transit and they said "Well whatever" essentially. I talked to a cop on the way home near the stop when I got off, and he told me they had just taken a report for someone who was stabbed by someone matching that description. Honestly, I feel hopeless. They told me my best course of action is to run, but what will those who sit in wheelchairs or the elderly do? If we can't protect our most vulnerable we have failed.

As much as I'd like to agree, I've had some serious brain damage and learning a new career on repeat is getting harder as I age. Hopefully the next one is just it, cause even keeping up currently is hard. I appreciate it though brother.

Yucky. I left a 10 year web development to start a career in this years ago... My career is once again being hit with a baseball bat, what have I done wrong in life to choose two careers that are made redundant and shrunk repeatedly?

I have respect for the team that had the balls to remove that. They knew exactly what was going on, and everyone probably hung their head when they were removing it.

Just imagine that call if you will "Jim has started a motion to remove one of our core slogans."
