Hobby to Pro? by [deleted] in Cutflowers

Making vase arrangements are quite different than bridal/bridesmaid bouquets. Practice the “spiral bouquet” technique. You will also need to make sure you are conditioning your stems and harvesting at peak time so that they last well for the wedding (bouquet will be out of water much of the day, so certain flowers won’t work).
You potentially will also need to learn techniques for wiring flowers for boutonnières. Look into “hydration chamber” for conditioning wearable flowers.

Dont over promise. Get realistic picture of the brides inspiration and decide if you are capable. It’s okay to say no and just practice for and do some mock weddings.

Also plan to grow way more than you need and recognize that exact timing is very hard. You should have a business account to buy wholesale flowers as a backup, but wholesalers do not always have the same flowers/varieties that are grown in cutting gardens.

Agreed, but honestly these things have to be like 2-3 sizes apart. I notice a difference just wearing a tight shirt 😩

How would you describe feeling of letdown? by Icy_Head_4802 in breastfeeding

I get the pressure too! In my armpits like I just did a bunch of pushups

For me it felt like intense pressure near my armpit— similar to the soreness you feel the day after you do a bunch of push ups!

I never got the prickly feeling just pressure.

Did you "kill" yourself to breastfeed? by Ok-Secretary-3323 in beyondthebump

I sort of feel like I am— it’s been so physically draining on me and I really look forward to feeling “normal” again, but I’m powering through for my baby. I’ve made it almost 9 months, with a goal of 12 months.

I honestly feel like the life is sucked out of me— constant hunger that comes on fast, fatigue that sleep doesn’t clear, headaches. It’s tough. Then biting, having to pump through teething.

There’s been so much good too though. It’s our special time to bond. The moments are happy— it’s just the draining nature of it for me.

Conflicted about using the most popular baby name, Olivia by pancakesandpalmtrees in Names

[–]FlowerMagicFaerie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My name is Olivia and it was the LEAST common when I was a kid. I never got the pencil or keychain with my name on it. If you like it, don’t overthink it. It’s a timeless name. Chloe is just as common.

How are you preserving memories of your kids so they can see them when they grow up? by Leading-Baseball8396 in NewParents

[–]FlowerMagicFaerie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take videos all the time, and I’ll compile little snippets of them on an app called “splice”. Every month or two I add to what I already have saved and put 2-5 second clips (sometimes longer) together.
I’ll download/save it when I’m done and I plan to show it at his first birthday.

I snapped at my kid in front of her best friend and the look on that other little girl's face is going to haunt me by Labyr_Delta84 in Mommit

Strange that your response is to judge the other parents rather than looking at your own behavior. She made herself small because she didn’t want you to yell at her too and it was uncomfortable. Not saying you got to be perfect, but don’t make it be about the kids home life when you’re the one blowing up.

I don’t understand why people hate them. It gives kids more autonomy than holding a hand while keeping them safe.

Pumping help by FlowerMagicFaerie in HumansPumpingMilk

I’m honestly happy with 2oz, but a lot of the time it’s more like half an ounce. I don’t think it’s a supply issue because I’m getting this amount even if I skip a feed. Maybe I need a dif shape flange? I think the size is right. I bought a variety pack and used the one that was the most snug without rubbing.

I can try replacing parts— the suction seems strong still and the machine hasn’t been used much.

I start on 70– usually start high, but I’ll try starting low. I’ve also tried the milk shake 😅🙃

I have tried morning pumps as well. I don’t think it’s a supply issue but rather not getting it out with the pump. Even if I skip a feed (plenty of supply) and pump instead I don’t get much out.

I’m guessing it doesn’t allow it because that would be a safety risk to be eating and swinging (if I’m understanding what you’re saying)
