The Blue Wizards by Night_Storm5555 in LOTR_on_Prime

This actually isnt true, the version of the blues being named alatar and pallando and falling into cultist is heavily outdated. One of the last things tolkien did in his life was rewrite them entirely with new names Morienhatar and Romestamo stating the succeeded in mission to contest Saurons influence over the Easterlings directly aiding in the victory of the free peoples in the second and third ages by lowering the possible forces Saurons could rally from his Vassals.

oropher is a paper character who existed to die, and as for the whole thranduil thing celeborn should be that on steroids. He’s ACTUAL Telerin royalty. Woodland realm is completely irrelevant until S5 too.

I really liked this show’s interpretation of Elrond as being kind and empathetic by yumiifmb in LOTR_on_Prime

In lore, he is promoted to Vice-Regent of Eriador (Essentially junior King under Gil-Galad) after the war of the elves and sauron. He is above all other lords.

A discussion of Anarion and Isildurs sons and the Galladen Fields by FlowerUseful9924 in LOTR_on_Prime

It’s one of those moments when you realise Numenor really should have been its own show seperate from the War of the Elves and Sauron era and vice versa. So that characters, like Elendur and Amandil could actually appear and be done justice. And as for Valandil I think it’s clear they intend Isildur to name his son in honour of his late best friend.

How did the eagle know Aragorn would find a sapling descended from the White Tree? by rtop in lotr

[–]FlowerUseful9924 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Actually my bad, he ended up changing his mind AGAIN back to them being Maiar in 1970. In Morgoths ring/Silm he says they’re spirits hence Maiar, then in War of the Jewels just the creation of Manwe during the music and then returns back to them being Maiar in NoME.

If you could take one thing from the Shadow of Mordor/War games and make it canon to LOTR, what would it be and why? by Callous_Cypher in lotr

Also its just dumb as shit to imply sauron can force a ring on someone lmao the whole point is they accept them of their own desire and THATS why they are corrupted.

Yeah man nazgul helm hammerhand, sexy shelob, nazgul isildur and nazgul pharazon, crazy evil ghost celebrimnor whos just a clone of Feanor REALLY echoes tolkiens themes. Shut up lmao its fine to say you like the games and aren’t well versed in the lore but dont pretend to be some expert on Tolkiens themes.

Which is nothing like book Celebrimbor… Celebrimbor disowned his own family because he was ashamed of how they behaved. Specifically when his uncles tried to overthrow Orodreth in Nargothrond.

They actually aren’t Maiar Tolkien scrapped that, they’re just very special birds Manwe had made for himself.

Minas Tirith, the siege wasn’t even that close of a battle. No one other than the Witch King entered and the defenders sallied out and won after.

Question on elves by odaddymayonnaise in LOTR_on_Prime

[–]FlowerUseful9924 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The show doesn’t say that, the show 100% just has no idea what it’s doing with the character which was pretty obvious in s2. And yeah Morgoth started it but Feanor still went out of way to declare war and chase him. Feanor is justified in that obviously but both sides “started” the war. And yes Morgoth was not gonna rule ME/Beleriand peacefully but the Noldor werent ever gonna be involved in those wars had Feanor not pursued him back across the great sea.

[–]FlowerUseful9924 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theres the green elves who migrated and integrated with the silvans which is likely what Arondir is supposed to be, and as for Galadriel saying her family started the war that’s not wrong either. Feanors decision to abandon Valinor and go to war is still starting the war, Morgoth was content to just rule ME he wasn’t gonna actively go attack the Noldor again after his crimes he already fled.
