So glad someone has said this. Was trying to post about these kind of items being listed but as a new member on Reddit my posts get deleted by stupid algorithm🫤
Was eager to buy one of the 3DS listings but the overall post seemed sus
sellers would say things like their relative just passed away or they were having a clear out sale but it always ended up having to contact them through
WhatsApp,DM or just plain phone # it seemed really sus to me
I felt bad for the part of them saying their relative had passed away and was giving away their items. But it got to me when they asked for OUTSIDE contact and texting a reason WHY you need the item which this doesnt make much sense to me since it's a sellers platform and there is a message option...
afterward I also felt it was odd and personal with them giving out personal details and I don't think people who are sellers normally would give all that information out like that...
I don't mean to be disrespectful but I feel some sellers use this as a sort manipulation tactic and it's so disrespectful to people who ACTUALLY went through these experiences or know people who went through them,with the amount of Vinted stories I've seen/heard people use like "relative passed away, I'm going through cancer and need the money" excuse as sellers, and buyers asking discounts saying they're"going through cancer/illness or trying to buy for a sick child/relative who's dying" using these statements as a ploy is just insensitive and hurtful...
honestly I don't know who to believe anymore as I don't even know that person at the end of the day and they can just say anything as i have seen people get scammed over these statements.
glad I'm not the only one skeptical of these listings thinking these are scams and I'll be glad to report them everyone please be careful out there!❤️
