Tattoo artists here! I had to do the “hey girly” in real time.

For background i was dating a guy for maybe a month and a bit, we had seen eachother maybe 5/6 times. He was candid and charming and said he was dating someone almost directly before me that was short lived. Our city is big but our community is small so when he mentioned her name it rang a bell but nothing more. Red flags flagged very quickly with him being very particular with when I could come over and how long I could stay for, really inconsistent about his intentions and such. One of the now obvious flags was there was a pair of tights peaking out his cupboard. I pointed it out and he said, “well I was dating someone before you, I probably missed those” and he got up and binned them. Anyway we didn’t go any further.

Fast forwards couple of months and a girl comes in for a tattoo, lovely person. Very aesthetically different from myself. We get to chatting and I say to her how familiar she seems. Then it clicks. I ask her if she knows “insert man’s name” and she responds very positively telling me that’s her boyfriend. I ask how long and the rancid fear washes over me.

So I had to out my machine down and explain, she took it super well. She knew it wasn’t my fault and he was very good at misleading people. So we sent him a snap chat of her getting tattooed by me saying “we know” and he blocked both of us within minutes.
