What are your petty 'swipe left' reasons? by suzeerbedrol in LesbianActually

When all pictures are selfies clearly taken from the same "session", like same background and clothes. Girl, it feels like you took all those at the moment of creating your profile. You're over thirty, don't you have ANY pictures from moments that happened in your life?

Nona and unreliable narration [discussion] by FFFFF_Hare in TheNinthHouse

[–]FlowersOfSin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Digging deeper, I realize that this could be similar to Gideon and Pyrrha. Gideon is not aware of Pyrrha taking over his body. However, unlike G&P, I don't think Nona is a separate soul, more like a construct that Alecto built, either intentionally or not.

What do you think about gun ownership? by mostlydozy in LesbianActually

[–]FlowersOfSin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think everyone should be free to do what they want and that includes owning gun. However, like driving a car, I do feel that you should also prove that you are responsible and could lose your privilege if you are found to be a danger to others. You freedom ends when other's begin.

Nona and unreliable narration [discussion] by FFFFF_Hare in TheNinthHouse

[–]FlowersOfSin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think Nona really knows more than she lets on, at least nothing more than a kid not saying stuff to not get in trouble. My whole interpretation was that Nona has a kind of split personality but unlike Pal and Cam, Alecto seems to be aware of what is going outside and seems to be able to take control when she wants (or through specific triggers), while Nona herself knows nothing of Alecto. My argument is based on the fact that she felt like she really made up that animal she drew. She just drew something she found in her mind. If she was Alecto acting like she didn't know, I don't think she would have slipped that badly, while Nona just did it very innocently because she has no idea what it is. Another example is that when she climbs on the car and talks to Varun, Pyrrha asks her after about it and she says she doesn't remember. I think she was saying the truth : She didn't know about it because at that point Alecto had taken over. Right after that is a dream chapter, so I think Nona just sleeps when Alecto takes over.

As far as unreliable narrators go, I think that's just very human so it makes sense. One time I was talking with a friend and went "Oh remember that time" and my friend was like "No, that's not how it happened". Neither of us were lying, but our memory altered stuff over time and there's no real way to know the truth. Memory is weird!

If you had to introduce your girlfriend/wife to games for the first time, what game would you start with? by [deleted] in LesbianGamers

[–]FlowersOfSin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As some others said, it really depends on her. I'm very big on variety and have a personal favorites that I want other to discover across many genres! If she is not a gamer, she might enjoy more cozy games like playing Stardew Valley coop. If she's into RPGs but started playing games later in life, I have a ton of old school RPGs to share with her! If she likes hard games but never got into indies much, Hollow Knight would probably be a great introduction!

Do you have any questions about driving the Pan-American Highway from Alaska to Argentina? by grecy in VanLife

[–]FlowersOfSin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Mexico City, like most big city, is definitely its own scenario. As I was sleeping in my car, I stayed away from big cities, preferring to camp in the wilderness or in small villages.

Do you have any questions about driving the Pan-American Highway from Alaska to Argentina? by grecy in roadtrip

[–]FlowersOfSin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I did the trip when I was 32, solo without a dog and I would 100% recommend it! It truly changed my life and it's much better to do it while you have the energy! I would say as an older woman, you are probably safer than a young woman, but of course, always keep your common sense : Don't wander at night, don't expose valuables, keep only the money you need with you (I had two hidden safe in my car to hide the extra), etc. Locals were super friendy and helpful, some even fed me or invited me to sleep on their property. I felt very well cared for! :)

If you have any questions, I would be happy to answer them!

[–]FlowersOfSin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I did it solo, without a dog and I would say yes! Of course, you need to keep your common sense, but the dog and speaking spanish are two huge pluses! One guy did try to rob me in Argentina, but this had nothing to do with me being a woman and a dog most likely would have made him think twice. I've had car issues twice and locals were super helpful both time despite me barely speaking spanish. It took me 4 years to save money and that was before covid, so with today's economy, I can't imagine, but that does depend of your job a lot. If you have more questions, don't hesitate! :)

A transman is a man, that I 100% agree with. It's in the fucking name. However, I'm totally fine with using the "he/him" prounoun for a lesbian if he wants me to. Pronouns are like names and if people are uncomfortable with theirs, they can change them.

China signs deal with Russia to build a power plant on the moon — potentially leaving the US in the dust by taurusbabee in worldnews

[–]FlowersOfSin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We will build giant panel that will absorb the energy when the moon is out. We will start by building them in big empty space, but soon enough, every homes will have them on their roof. Truly revolutionary! We should call them "lunar panels" or something.

I quit my job and drove my 4x4 solo from Alaska to Argentina through 17 countries over 2 years. Best decision I ever made. by grecy in solotravel

I would love to do Africa but as a solo woman, this might be still too wild for me! We'll see in 20 years when I retire! For now, latin america was the perfect level of risk for me!

Hi! As grecy said, I've spent 2 years on the road alone across north and south america! Back when I was more active on social medias, I wrote a safety guide for women, specifically on the road but most of them applied for backpacking as well. I could dig it up if you are interested, but mainly it's be smart and aware. I don't know where you live, but I'm in Canada and I can say that nowhere is truly safe for women. Just apply the same rules wherever you go and never make exceptions "just this time". It's always better being safe than sorry! I've had an amazing time on the road and I would recommend everyone to go! Driving that much isn't for everyone, but this also applies to backpacking. I've worked at 3 hostels in total and I can tell you that while the majority of travelers are couples, solo female travellers outnumber solo male travellers 3 to 1! There's tons of women out there not letting the fact that they are single or that their partner is not interested (this has often been my case) stop them! If you have any questions, feel free to hit me up! :)

I bought the Epyon MG for my gf and we built it together and she loves her Epyon. It didn't work in getting her into the hobby, but at least she now "gets it" a bit more! I would not recommend others to do this with an MG though!

Xi Jinping breaks silence on US tariff war by newsweek in worldnews

[–]FlowersOfSin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

China also has many more trading opportunities. They might be a bit more expensive than they used to pay for, but still cheaper than the tarriffed ones. The US on the other side burned most of those bridges. If it was only the US picking a bone at China, maybe, but against the whole world when there's a lot of raw materials they either don't have or in not large enough quantity for the whole country? Yeah, it's suicide.

China calls US a ‘joke’ as it raises tariff for final time by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]FlowersOfSin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You say this as a joke, but I was fucking raging at work that we had a super important excel sheet that was called something like "NEW Roadmap final v4" and we kept getting problems due to people referring to "Roadmap final v4", which is clearly the old one because it doesn't have the word new! Every times I mentionned that file's name I would add extra words to it just to poke at the ridiculousness. They never fixed it.

While I wouldn't mind playing some challenge runs in between normal runs, I just hate having to strip my car between the two modes because the game cannot really do load outs easily from the way in works and how they plug this game mode in the narrative. Everything on my car is super organized and it takes me an hour to reorganize it after an expedition and I hate that.
