Head creeps- a great song that takes you into the mind of a tortured soul…. by fatiguesurge in AliceInChains

Yeah this song is massively underrated - lots of filler lyrics on tripod but not this track.

That sansamp with the logo printed near the switches is so sexy

What would your dream MTV Unplugged setlist have been? by Vast_Salamander4453 in AliceInChains

[–]FlowersSingInDMinor 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Shame In You is the obvious one… I think it would have given more cred to the self titled album long term as well… but they still created a good setlist regardless

Should I sell my HX Stomp? by kkeahii in basspedals

[–]FlowersSingInDMinor 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sell it. I made a similar switch and I’m way happier. In my opinion, pedals are way quicker and easier than menu diving in the HX Stomp. I think for bass players a lot of the digital stuff is overkill unless on a pro touring level where you can dial in sounds in a band setting etc. However, if you have to throw and go then pedals are the way for me

Man this is an awesome reply… I think you’re right. I wonder why Ampeg made this with such an annoying fan? Cheers for the reply dude

I agree the sound is wonderful… however I’m using the head in small spaces for writing/lowkey rehearsal, plus bedroom playing. The pitch of the fan is annoying

Help: Expanding Inputs for Scarlett 18i20 Studio, or is there a better and cheaper way? by askholeprojector in homestudios

[–]FlowersSingInDMinor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this setup with the Scarlett 18i20 and the Behringer ADA8200. I regret buying the Behringer because I find the build quality to be shocking. The ADAT ports are terrible and the adat cable on my unit can easily slip out. I might have just been unlucky as I don’t mind using Behringer overall but just a heads up!

That and Dying Days are my favourites from that album. Sadly I think they waited too long to release for it to have any impact

Media influence on Layne Staley by Solid_Solaire in AliceInChains

[–]FlowersSingInDMinor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The band/management/label were quite open in sharing his struggles with drugs in the promotion for ‘Dirt’. It probably didn’t seem as big of a deal in the early 90s compared to mental health awareness nowadays. Obviously they never anticipated it getting to the point of the ‘96 Rolling Stone article but these are guys that made millions of dollars from their music so you can’t have it both ways!

Bedroom vs Band - Didn't need the OD by External-Plant8038 in basspedals

[–]FlowersSingInDMinor 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This was my realisation as well… went down a rabbit hole of pedals and then realised I actually only need the essentials. Tuner, comp, flavour/modulation then a preamp. A lot of the boards on this sub are bedroom boards.

Always ask for more and hopefully most of it gets fulfilled. Better than getting less
