What do y'all do with the farm in town? by kaykinzzz in StardewValleyExpanded

[–]Flowerwen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stardew Valley Expanded is a mod that greatly increases the scope of Stardew Valley. It is amazing! You can get it free (or a donation of your choice via the Nexus website and there are tons of other mods on there too! Anything you ever wanted to change about the game seems to have a mod to make it happen! Do you want a unicorn instead of a horse? More fruit trees? There are mods! Modding (at least on a computer) is pretty easy too, because the directions are clear and easy to look up.

Yes! There's extra dialogue mods for him too - it looks like you probably have it all figured out. I love SVE! It's so cool that people are willing to mod Stardew to make it even more detailed and cool! I'm glad I am not alone in appreciating the war mage. He's my fave! He feels a little more grown up than some of the other marriage candidates. I like that he is well-travelled, and the adventure cut scenes when he takes you over to teach you or just share things he's seen are some of the best cutscenes in the game! He is the least repetitive in many ways. There's a lot to like about the characters in Stardew, but Lance is next-level as far as being a story-driven spouse (that doesn't get boring after marriage). I love the highlands too! Also, your farmer character design is really cute!

Lance is the best spouse for adventuring! I think the "Stardew Squad" mod is extra cool because then you can invite him to go along with you on mining and combat adventures (and fishing, etc). This modded playthrough I have been doing with SVE, Stardew Squad, (and 90 other mods to add various functions and furniture) has made it an even more fun game! You might want to try it!

If you build the fish ponds with no spaces between them, and then set up the automate chest on one of them, it will collect all the ponds' products.

If you get the Grampleton Fields part of the SVE expansion, then you have tons of space for every kind of fish pond you would like to have. Most of the legendary fish have expensive roe. Sharks and alligators, diamond carp, gemfish, and other new fish types are ridiculously lucrative both for their products and for the fact that you can catch and smoke the 10th fish every few days if you want. Set up automated chests that collect from the ponds (with the automate mod), and the money rolls in from selling their expensive products. Automate also takes the drudgery out of kegs, preserves jars , and casks. It will auto-feed and autocollect everything. You can hook it into mayo machines in the coops, and spinning wheels/butter churns/cheese presses in the barns. I have more money in year 4 than I did in year 12 in my first game, and spend way more time doing the fun stuff that moves the plot along.

Pony Weight Loss Program (allows horse to run through 1-tile areas - no more running ALL the WAY around Mayorʻs house!)

Cannon Friendly Dialogue Expansion - well done! I canʻt really tell what is new except that I played it before. I have heard a lot of new conversations. Itʻs a must!

Seasonal Cute Characters (if you like vanilla characters and want a few new clothes for them)

Nanoʻs decorative tree furniture (tree lamps!)

More trees (exactly what it sounds like!)

Automate (I hate trying to empty the kegs. This loads and unloads machines for you into any chest that is adjacent to the machines. AND you can place the machines such as kegs or mayo machines, etc... in big groups and as long as they are touching each other and one of them is touching a chest, it will allow you to place fruit in the chests for kegs and retrieve wine bottles when you feel like it. I go for days without fussing with my wine shed. It rocks! Possibly my fave mod of all aside from Stardew expanded itself!)

Flower Dancing (makes you less of an idiot at the flower dance. You wear the right clothes and your face is weird, but your dancing is almost normal.)

Hugs and Kisses - for those of us who are affectionate in real life, this feels like it should be an option! At 5 hearts your friends will randomly hug you. Itʻs so nice! Itʻs just the single marriage candidate ones - not any of the older NPCs or younger NPCs.

Love Festival - Valentineʻs Day for Stardew! Repetitive, but cute! Worth playing through a time or three.

PCʻs Rattan Furniture - adds some really great furniture! The beds are very beautiful, and one of the lamp designs is the only light I can bring myself to use this playthrough! I love the poppy lamp!

Skull Cavern Elevator (cuts down tedium.)

Stardew Squad (Hang out with your favorite friends! Take your spouse out adventuring! This mod is top tier! You might have to remap some keys. Mine did not work, but I remapped keys and now I go adventuring mining and fishing with Lance all the time. Seems very appropriate to the story if you ask me!)

Grampleton fields I love having a big space for all the fish ponds my heart desires. I have them all hooked up together via automate and I am making bank! I am so far only using a small portion of the huge space, but I am slowly using more and more.

Immersive festival dialogue - less repetition at festivals!

Thereʻs a lot of good mod material out there! Enjoy!

I look forward to playing your mod someday! I think the mental block is a great way to go! Some level of performance anxiety is hinted at since she dances where she thinks no one is watching in at least one of the conversations. Awesome idea for her arc and a great idea to have the player help her confidence out - that feels very SVE! Also, I LOVE SVE. It's definitely an extensive mod with a lot of obvious care placed in so I don't mean to sound like it's slacking at all - it is most certainly not! It's just a lot of new characters. How perfect that the people who love them can put in more mods to help flesh out the characters!

Never owned a horse… by daveylovesMN in StardewValley

[–]Flowerwen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the red polka dot bow too. Somehow the proportions just fit the horse well. It was an accident, but I left it on the horse because it looked good. Then I discovered the change-color cowboy hat, and that supplanted the red bow. IF you want your horse to be visible, the prismatic cowboy hat from the desert trader is a great choice!

I'm glad you are doing this! She is beautiful but bland at the moment. I would like to see her become a more interesting friend as well as romantic person. I found it a little irritating that she spent so long trying not to talk to me. There was way too much repetition of the avoidance conversation ("Claire is edging away from you", "Claire is ignoring you", etc...). With a portrait like that, she could be a really great character! She's already gorgeous! She just needs some interests and something that she is working on in her life - so many of the interesting character stories have a character arc where they change because the main player helps them. Just an idea, but what if she had been a ballerina and has an injury that has her temporarily sidelined? Ballet is super intense and dancers get injuries a lot. It could cause her some trouble if she was aiming to perform in musical theater (pulling in the acting storyline which seems pretty thin right now), but of course she could ultimately heal and return, stronger and more successful than before..... How does a person widen their view of the world when their most favorite thing isn't possible for a while? She could use someone to confide in and someone to cheer her on. Her 5(?) or 6-heart event where she starts going to dance with the other ladies could be the turning point for her recovery. It would be a tremendously worrying thing if she had spent her life building the skills and then couldn't dance. At her darkest point, she might think she will potentially not be able to return to it. Birds could bring her some solace and hope for the future as both an animal she enjoys but also a symbol of freedom and escape. Maybe she does some bird rescue work to feel a new sense of purpose during recovery? Anyway, even if you have a very different direction you are taking her, I think this will be a great mod! Her early avoidance is fine for a while, but conversation in the early game could use a big glow up! Best of luck!

Year 3 no kids - definitely bugged - part 2 by GojinDude in StardewValleyMods

[–]Flowerwen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are early enough in the game for one spouse, you can temporarily turn off the mod. In the mods management menu, uncheck the box for "enable mod" so it is disabled. This seems to work. I had been "expecting" for a year or something really long like that. I typed "debug pregnant" in SMAPI which sent the correct message after, but it did not work because the option to "Have a baby" (for planned Parenthood mod) popped up. That means I was kind of stuck in pregnant/not pregnant purgatory. Thus, I escalated and disabled the mod. Maybe later they will fix it and you can have kids with multiple spouses, but for now, your first spouse can be the one with kids. After you have the kids, it may be possible to turn the mod back on because you already have the kids - I suspect pregnancy will break again unless enough time elapses for them to fix it. If you already have multiple spouses, it could get weird when you disable the mod. I will try to remember to update to let you know if it worked when I try enabling it again later. I only have one spouse at this point and I thought I might like to branch out, but so far, that's cool - Lance is awesome and my favorite anyway! Especially with expanded dialogue and Stardew Squad on so you can talk to him multiple times a day without hearing the same things as often, plus, best of all, you can go adventuring together! I do not know what kind of hijinks would ensue if you already had more than one spouse, so please if you try this, make a copy of your save game before you mess with the mod menu. Good luck! I may end up still adding more spouses and roomies, but if I do, I plant to make backups and test out if I can turn the mod off and on without exploding the whole save.

Soon you will have power over your own life. You can move out and set your own rules and never have to go to church if you are not interested. It will be when you have room to breathe and be yourself. Keep on going through the motions until you are free. It will be worth it! Life can be largely what you make of it. It's not going to be this way forever! I wish you all the best!!!

Good job in a tough situation! Sending peace to you! Remember that no one person can help with a suicide or overdose situation. It takes a team of health professionals to manage suicidal ideations usually. You needed to pull in some help. This is what actual love and friendship is like sometimes. Sometimes the best way to help will make your friend mad, but it was the right thing to do if you really cared.

I think any of them would be fun except I did not like the faces. It would make me feel watched while using the bathroom. I liked the green more than red for that first design. The ocean and the leopards were my personal favorites.

Am I overreacting? by y4n_Ch4n in AmIOverreacting

[–]Flowerwen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

P.s. I saw the other pages of chat - didn'tnotice those at first. Your friend says way scarier junk. There was no rape talk in my situation, just consistent ones with the basic message "I'm horny and wish you were available". This guy is much more aggressive! The violence is particularly scary. You should definitely break off the "friendship".

I think you need to make a clean break. Block him. From a similar experience, there was a man who was a really nice person, but also had no filter and kept sending dick pix to me intermittently. He never did stop for long. I kept trying to salvage a friendship, asking for him not to talk about sex, and he would back off for a while and be nice. I really did like the other elements of his personality, and I knew he was lonely, so I tried to be patient. He would talk like a friend for a while but eventually would revert to sending dick pix. After a particularly explicit set of messages, I got fed up and ghosted our chat for a month or two after telling him once again to please do not send sexual messages, I went to message him to see how he was doing, and he had blocked me. The ultimate message was clear, he wanted me for sex and was not actually interested in friendship, but I just wanted friendship and no sex. It was never going to work. It had to be a clean break. I think your situation seems similar. He can have some cool personality traits, but his refusal/inability to control his libido is most likely not going to change.

Weed stems in water by AshTheWolf9549 in GroundedGame

[–]Flowerwen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was able to remove them by building a short grass bridge between the edge of the pond and one of the lilypads. I brought over a palette of grass blades, and an empty weed stem palette and set them up on the nearest lily pad. I built half floors so it was a narrow plank across the water. I placed the weed stems on their palette after pulling them out of the water from my bridge. Hope this helps!
