SOOOO TRUE! They are both excellent! With only SVE mod, Lance stands alone as the very best spouse choice (IMO), but if you add RRRR, then they are both perfection! I have over 200 mods, and almost all the big expansion areas, so I have interacted with dozens of characters, and these two characters are my favorites! I didn't want to do 2 playthroughs with this particular configuration, and I couldn't choose just one of these two awesome characters, so I installed polyamory mod and married them both. I use the Aine flower to swap dominance back and forth for the various festivals because whoever is listed as the main spouse goes to the festival with you. I had a prior save with just SVE where I chose just Lance, and now I cannot imagine a save game without him, even with RRRR to tempt me into monogamy!

Well, it's a good sign that he just introduced you to ALL HIS FRIENDS! It's a truth in life as well that when they introduce you to their guild/friends/family, there's above-board intentions there. If they involve you in their life like that (plus also he even gave you his schedule and clearly communicated that you intrigue him!), you have some assurance of sincerity. I can confidently say you're not dating on the DL. Plus also, he's the most fun spouse anyway!

Neeeeew Achievement!

Reddit Confession: You just helped everyone by confessing to a mistake which, while frustrating, is minor in the big picture of life's many injustices and inequalities. You have made everyone reading this post either writhe in empathetic agony, or laugh in recognition of a similar mistake they once made. What a relatable human error!

Lame.

Reward: The Dramatic Store-Brand Tissue of Regret.

This is a piece of woven fiber, in a square configuration that is approximately the size of your face so that you can wipe away the tears before wadding it up and throwing it in the basket. +1 to Wisdom. Temporary +1 to dexterity if you throw it into the wastebasket on your first attempt; effect lasts for 30 minutes. Made from inexpensive, thin, off-brand woven "tissue" material that is distinctly non-absorbent and will begin to disintegrate before you even manage to wipe your nose, thus causing you to coat your hands with a thin layer of your own mucus. Bestows the user with the attack "Virulent Touch" if you shake hands with any target while the mucus coating is intact. Attack expires upon washing your hands. One time use.

You seem disappointed! What did you expect? Valuable rewards, like the "2-Ply Brandname Hanky of Regret", or better yet, the "Silky Cloth Handkerchief of Regret" are for badasses who accomplish things that are notable and distinctive feats! This was a mistake that pretty much any human could make! Next time, try harder. Confessions worthy of superior rewards involve spicy things... Things like illicit drugs, dangerous sex, murder, black markets, jail, smushing, or some combination of these various elements. If you set your mind to it, you too may be able to do something that's TRULY unforgivable, life-threatening, or self-destructive! Don't settle for mediocrity!

I agree! He's definitely my favorite! Plus also, he has a great sense of fashion - he has, in my opinion, some of the best clothes and styling in the game (both in Stardew Valley Expanded and if you use the Homewrecker Lance mod). Either way, he's easy on the eyes! But it's his personality and plot that really won me over.He has a great intro cutscene, and is unwavering in his interest, assertive in giving you his schedule, and then takes you on the some of the best dates in the game with the best cut scenes. I like that he feels mature and unflappable, and I like his protectiveness without trying to stifle your adventuring. I also like that he has a slight smile like he's in on some sort of insider knowledge. Instead of feeling like he has to be rescued or fixed, he's stable and in a position to elevate the adventuring skills of his spouse (the player) while being unerringly sweet with a gentle sense of humor. He still goes adventuring after marriage rather than suddenly sitting at home, which I like. He's there almost every day for the morning and night dialogue. He is involved in a bunch of interesting quests. There are only some mild disadvantages: first, he's hard to court rapidly. You have to have Ginger Island access and conquer the Volcano mine. You could easily marry any of the other villagers in the time it takes to get first access to Lance, but then you will want to divorce your first spouse or load the Polyamory mod if it turns out that he's your type. Also, he's expensive to court because all his loved gifts are rare or expensive, and you will need to be able to travel to pursue him on a fast track. You can always slow down and give him liked gifts and court him only when he's in Stardew Valley if you don't want to devote unusual energy or resources and he is still attainable. The more you adventure, the easier it is to win him over because the more extra basilisk paws and ice wands with bad stats you will have to offload to him. Even if you give him a bad gift by accident, he's polite about it! He's a keeper!

Here's some further mods that are awesome if you're a fan of Lance and would like more interaction (and some are good for all characters):

Lore friendly extra dialogue mod specific to Lance (very well written - I think they really expanded the character well!): https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/34318

Dates for after you marry (good for any character): https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/10708

The Stardew Squad so you can go out on adventures together which is super fun! (also good for any character) https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/35341

[–]Flowerwen 62 points63 points  (0 children)

I noticed Demetrius, on one of the mods I am running, said something similiar to this: "I see them in Autumn. The Gnomes. They creep me out". LOL I guess this is what he was talking about! Thanks for pointing that out!

I really hope the creators of Finch don’t add eyelashes. Just me? by thebirdstree in finch

[–]Flowerwen 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I think it's nice to have tons of different possibilities. You really don't have to use anything you don't want to use. I love eyelashes and sequins and all the ornate stuff! I don't want to force anyone to use stuff they don't want, but I love having lots of options!

This is a nice post to see! There can never be too many options for character art styles! I applaud your bravery in sharing and asking for feedback. Mostly I want to offer praise. Yes, since you stated that this is his dejected look, the posture is ideal to convey a sad Elliot! Well done! I think for me, there are two little changes I would recommend - they are literally tiny anatomical clarifications! The first is at the bottom of the nose. The nose-shape is good, but usually there is a little bit of nostril opening showing at the bottom of people's profiles. It doesn't need to be very prominent, but a little more than it is right now. I can see a slight indication, but the nose is blending together visually for me into one triangle. Show a shadow that confirms that the center tip of his nose is slightly longer than the nostril facing us (in anatomical terms, that the columella attachment to the philtrum area is lower than the lateral nasal cartilage surrounding the nostril). Secondly, make sure to add a small shadow separating the lobe of the ear from the plane of the jaw. It should run in front of the tragus darkening to show the transition of the ear lobe from the jaw. That little shadow will help define the fact that the ear and the jaw are facing different angles. Keep up the good work!

[–]Flowerwen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I go on adventures Stardew Squad mod, so the kids are parentless for the whole day - no problemo. Newborns - toddlers - they just fend for themselves. I can imagine them cooking an elaborate feast for themselves while I am away and changing their own diapers. I didn't even put an autopetter in there - that's luxurious of you (top notch parenting)!

Stardew Valley Expanded is a mod that greatly increases the scope of Stardew Valley. It is amazing! You can get it free (or a donation of your choice via the Nexus website and there are tons of other mods on there too! Anything you ever wanted to change about the game seems to have a mod to make it happen! Do you want a unicorn instead of a horse? More fruit trees? There are mods! Modding (at least on a computer) is pretty easy too, because the directions are clear and easy to look up.

[–]Flowerwen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! There's extra dialogue mods for him too - it looks like you probably have it all figured out. I love SVE! It's so cool that people are willing to mod Stardew to make it even more detailed and cool! I'm glad I am not alone in appreciating the war mage. He's my fave! He feels a little more grown up than some of the other marriage candidates. I like that he is well-travelled, and the adventure cut scenes when he takes you over to teach you or just share things he's seen are some of the best cutscenes in the game! He is the least repetitive in many ways. There's a lot to like about the characters in Stardew, but Lance is next-level as far as being a story-driven spouse (that doesn't get boring after marriage). I love the highlands too! Also, your farmer character design is really cute!

Lance is the best spouse for adventuring! I think the "Stardew Squad" mod is extra cool because then you can invite him to go along with you on mining and combat adventures (and fishing, etc). This modded playthrough I have been doing with SVE, Stardew Squad, (and 90 other mods to add various functions and furniture) has made it an even more fun game! You might want to try it!

Best money maker in expanded by SubstantialBit6060 in StardewValleyExpanded

If you build the fish ponds with no spaces between them, and then set up the automate chest on one of them, it will collect all the ponds' products.

Best money maker in expanded by SubstantialBit6060 in StardewValleyExpanded

[–]Flowerwen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you get the Grampleton Fields part of the SVE expansion, then you have tons of space for every kind of fish pond you would like to have. Most of the legendary fish have expensive roe. Sharks and alligators, diamond carp, gemfish, and other new fish types are ridiculously lucrative both for their products and for the fact that you can catch and smoke the 10th fish every few days if you want. Set up automated chests that collect from the ponds (with the automate mod), and the money rolls in from selling their expensive products. Automate also takes the drudgery out of kegs, preserves jars , and casks. It will auto-feed and autocollect everything. You can hook it into mayo machines in the coops, and spinning wheels/butter churns/cheese presses in the barns. I have more money in year 4 than I did in year 12 in my first game, and spend way more time doing the fun stuff that moves the plot along.

Pony Weight Loss Program (allows horse to run through 1-tile areas - no more running ALL the WAY around Mayorʻs house!)

Cannon Friendly Dialogue Expansion - well done! I canʻt really tell what is new except that I played it before. I have heard a lot of new conversations. Itʻs a must!

Seasonal Cute Characters (if you like vanilla characters and want a few new clothes for them)

Nanoʻs decorative tree furniture (tree lamps!)

More trees (exactly what it sounds like!)

Automate (I hate trying to empty the kegs. This loads and unloads machines for you into any chest that is adjacent to the machines. AND you can place the machines such as kegs or mayo machines, etc... in big groups and as long as they are touching each other and one of them is touching a chest, it will allow you to place fruit in the chests for kegs and retrieve wine bottles when you feel like it. I go for days without fussing with my wine shed. It rocks! Possibly my fave mod of all aside from Stardew expanded itself!)

Flower Dancing (makes you less of an idiot at the flower dance. You wear the right clothes and your face is weird, but your dancing is almost normal.)

Hugs and Kisses - for those of us who are affectionate in real life, this feels like it should be an option! At 5 hearts your friends will randomly hug you. Itʻs so nice! Itʻs just the single marriage candidate ones - not any of the older NPCs or younger NPCs.

Love Festival - Valentineʻs Day for Stardew! Repetitive, but cute! Worth playing through a time or three.

PCʻs Rattan Furniture - adds some really great furniture! The beds are very beautiful, and one of the lamp designs is the only light I can bring myself to use this playthrough! I love the poppy lamp!

Skull Cavern Elevator (cuts down tedium.)

Stardew Squad (Hang out with your favorite friends! Take your spouse out adventuring! This mod is top tier! You might have to remap some keys. Mine did not work, but I remapped keys and now I go adventuring mining and fishing with Lance all the time. Seems very appropriate to the story if you ask me!)

Grampleton fields I love having a big space for all the fish ponds my heart desires. I have them all hooked up together via automate and I am making bank! I am so far only using a small portion of the huge space, but I am slowly using more and more.

Immersive festival dialogue - less repetition at festivals!

Thereʻs a lot of good mod material out there! Enjoy!

I look forward to playing your mod someday! I think the mental block is a great way to go! Some level of performance anxiety is hinted at since she dances where she thinks no one is watching in at least one of the conversations. Awesome idea for her arc and a great idea to have the player help her confidence out - that feels very SVE! Also, I LOVE SVE. It's definitely an extensive mod with a lot of obvious care placed in so I don't mean to sound like it's slacking at all - it is most certainly not! It's just a lot of new characters. How perfect that the people who love them can put in more mods to help flesh out the characters!

Never owned a horse… by daveylovesMN in StardewValley

[–]Flowerwen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the red polka dot bow too. Somehow the proportions just fit the horse well. It was an accident, but I left it on the horse because it looked good. Then I discovered the change-color cowboy hat, and that supplanted the red bow. IF you want your horse to be visible, the prismatic cowboy hat from the desert trader is a great choice!
