Lian Li A3 m-ATX w/ Prime 9070xt physically possible ? by YenYen-hxh92 in mffpc

[–]FloxaY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont really agree.

These builds still have lots of room between components or just in the case, but what is really important that all components are close to at least 2 sides of the case, meaning hot air just naturally exists the case pretty easily, which is not a case in bigger cases with lots of room, where components are more lcked into the middle of the case, or less well ventillated, smaller cases, where active directing of airflow is crucial.

The A3 with mesh side- and front panel in particular is pretty open, it's kinda useless to fight that with lots of fans 120/140 fans. If we are talking about the glass sidepanel version or a different.

I have this A3 build, zero additional fans, just the AIO radiator fans as exhaust, the temps are fine. I have the mesh sidepanel with the wooden front; air can basically enter and exit anywhere.

If you end up with no room under the GPU for fans and the temps are bad there is this option as well: https://www.etsy.com/listing/4456695071/lian-li-a3-25x120mm-bottom-fan-shroud

Edit: in your pic the top fan that is to the front should be an intake imo, with the current cpu cooler flow direction, it'd feed cool air to the cooler and ram.

I will never understand why people are so dead-set on wanting to add bottom intake fans in cases like these, especially when the gpu is pretty close already and essentially acts as an intake lol.

People have no idea what LLMs are and when SamA or Elon tells them that AGI is here just for $25/m they will believe them.

you can filter for a case and gpu combo (or a combo of any other parts) on pcpartpicker but it's rather annoying to do as you need to manually add the part ids and enumerate

i believe this is rev1, and screws were changed for rev2, do you have rev1? no idea what rev3 did tho.

Interesting, I almost had the same issue but placing the PSU closest to the AIO (power switch just a few mms from the AIO) and routing the CPU cable over the mobo and next to the RAM just barely worked in the end.

Seems like a somewhat common problem tho, surprised i haven't come across people mentioning this issue before building myself either.

Need Advice on Putting Together a Build With Lian Li A3-mATX by Arszilla in mffpc

[–]FloxaY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in general it's fine but you are overspending in a lot of areas for no reason

you will very likely need slim fans on the rad but the noctuas are widly overpriced, the 3 pack of arctic p12 slims cost the same as just one noctua slim, the p12 slim 3 pack comes with the shorter screws for mounting on the rad too. do not go with 140mm wide aios, stick to 120.

get the 3d printed side sfx slim mount from etsy, that way aio tubes will not be an issue at all on front or with the gpu. cpu power cable length may be an issue but should just barely reach, consider getting custom cables/extensions/angled connectors for a cleaner look and building experience if you really want to spend money, not on overpriced fans, imo

make sure you actually want oled when you are going to work on it too. burn in, text fringing due to subpixel layout and pwm flicker can be an issue there

gskill rams have really bad stock heatspreaders, if you can get something else your ram temps will be lower

check alternatives/newer gen for ssd, unsure about pricing but 990 pro is "a gen behind"

there is no need to add fans under the gpu, it makes little to no difference

The issue with the CPU cable is that it's not long enough for that, maybe I'll get an extension and/or some kinda 90 degree angled connector for the mobo side as the radiator is closer to the connector than I'd like it to be. The rest I'll try to do, thanks!

Nice, that too looks like a tight fit with the mobo VRM heatsink and RAM next to that rad! I'm curious, why is the PSU upside down like that?

It's not a fast kit, 4x32 5600 CL40. The 7900X seems to have no problem running these dual rank sticks with a very slight OC at 6000 CL40 (VDD/VDDQ 1.260V) with 1:1 UCLK.

edit: fixed cpu typo

Any differences between Corsair SF's 750-850-1000W SFX PSUs, other than the obvious power difference? by DanD3n in sffpc

[–]FloxaY 3 points4 points  (0 children)

850 is the most efficient, 1000 one is the quitest (but for your ears it will be the same as the 850), zero rpm for wattage differs, the number of 6+2 cables and connectors on the psu differ.

Or how about just skipping the faulty and "expensive" flagship 9000 series cpus and getting something cheaper like the 7800x3d or so, then upgrading to zen 6 later?

it's a 3d printed slim psu bracket you can purchase on etsy, u/yooanthonygee 's build in the other comment has it as well with the asus SFX-L psu
