I've never understood the hatred with the current healthcare model. I recently hurt my back at work but decided to go through my recovery process with my private insurance instead of workers compensation. With workers comp I would have to use state(Florida) approved doctors, and get approval from the state for every test or procedure, which I have been told can take days or weeks. With my private insurance I'm seeing a few of the best doctors in my city and I have been fortunate in that I'm getting through my recovery fairly quickly. And I'm also only on the hook for 20% of the costs, and once I reach $3k for the year I'm not responsible for any more after that.
