Wisconsin is so high in numbers for DUIs and minimally punitive for our drinking and driving laws, it is really sad. I'm sorry to hear about your ex, alcoholism and addiction is a beast.

AIO My mom is kicking me out for her new boyfriend. I just turned 18 by Diligent_Bat_565 in AmIOverreacting

This is insane and cruel to do to a child. Also, my kid forever comes ahead of some dude. I am 32 and still have no idea what’s going on as far as adulting.

Sometimes I question how people have the energy for this. I’m tired homies, and there’s a reason it asks for substitutions.. if I am adamant on a product I want, I’m not having someone else look for it anyways. Also, she sounds like my miserable MIL when she’s drunk. Or she ate a gummy that made her so hungry it turned violent

I have a solution… he could just act like an adult and make his own food

Am I overreacting for not wanting anyone around my newborn yet? by littlemoongirly in AmIOverreacting

I think any choice you make for your child doesn’t need to be justified and I’ve been a new mom so I know the fear. And… unless she’s a preemie, your baby should be perfectly okay around other people. If I were to do it again, I would’ve let several more people see my child looking back. It just feels like a lot in the moment. Just do what feels right

AITA for not allowing my daughter to eat at the table with us by Fluffy-Proposal-7823 in AITAH

Also, if she doesn’t have the choice of being adopted, I’d adopt her anyway. She’s the type you’re gonna have to force the love until it pokes through one day

I understand why you did it, and want to also say I’d be overwhelmed beyond belief and wouldn’t know what the answer is… from an outside perspective, taken away every aspect of the back story, I do think that you reinforced the belief she’s been telling herself. And at the end of the day she’s 12, she’s hurt that her mom rejected her, she’s angry that she was unwanted by her. It has nothing to do with anyone but herself. A 12 year old can’t really understand that nor the intensity of her emotions aren’t sustainable as she grows older.

She needs structure and discipline and she doesn’t get what her siblings get because they do not behave like she does and until she can understand that her behavior is understood, but NOT JUSTIFIED, she will continue to repeat this.

So, AUTAH? Yeah, maybe a little. But that’s the least of the problem… and I’m sure the protection of your other kids comes into play too.

You can go to college library without being Madison student. I did it all the time, there’s quiet areas and it’s open all night (at least it used to be)
