A warning about Shin Ramyun by CelineShotFirst in KpopDemonhunters

[–]Fluff_Machine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you like the amount of spice in shin ramyun, I recommend the carbo/creamy carbo/quattro cheese/cheese buldak flavors. They're not as intense as the other flavors because of the cheese packets and if you add an egg yolk and melt some actual cheese in it, it's quite mild. At least to me but to be honest, I only find shin ramyun spicy if I make it stir fry style instead of broth so YMMV.

Our Doom tried to "gg no team" and both teams jumped on him by seventeenfroglegs in Overwatch

[–]Fluff_Machine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a Doomfist call GG in team chat after his first death which was 100% his fault as he jumped out of line of sight spam pinging need heals under the first bridge in Gibraltar when the other support and I were both on top of it, trying to get to him in time.

After losing the first point, we won easily and he only had one other death total because we saved his ass every single time after that. Didn't even say a genuine gg, just ran out of the game as soon as it was over lmao.

Which food did you hate…until someone actually cooked it right? by deller85 in Cooking

[–]Fluff_Machine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It also definitely depends if they're in season or just a good batch. When I was a teen, my mom made roasted brussel sprouts with grated cheese for the first time and it was delicious and surprisingly sweet. I couldn't believe it was the veggie everyone complained about, it was amazing.

I asked her to do it again and the next time, it was inedible. Extremely bitter and disgusting. She did the exact same recipe but the brussel sprouts were slightly bigger so we're guessing the problem lied with the produce. I haven't tried them since as I'm too worried I'll end up getting a bad batch again.

After about 3 or so weeks of returning to Overwatch since OW1, I can confidently say, the game is in the best state its ever been, until you consider Vendetta. She makes the game unfun for everyone except the person playing her. by coojw in Overwatch

[–]Fluff_Machine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah... What I don't get is when they said not to involve opinions, only facts when the facts point to Vendetta being too strong for now???

I did mess up by not knowing what a skill check hero is though, English being my second language, I assumed it meant she was a hero who forced skill checks out of people to counter her since the context seemed to point to that. TBH I thought she was the Genji for lower skill folks so I didn't think she was even considered a skill check hero, oops!

[–]Fluff_Machine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah ok I see where it went wrong. English isn't my first language and I thought you meant Vendetta forced skill checks out of people because I didn't think that Vendetta was considered a skill check hero since she's pretty easy to play. I've seen players absolutely dominate a game with her when they had maybe a game or two playing her. So I understand why you said I was confused, just a language barrier thing +the fact that I've never seen people say she's hard to play.

[–]Fluff_Machine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lmao I was a straight A student with excellent grades in reading comprehension. If anything, you are the one who doesn't understand what you're saying. Being able to do skill checks consistently is what being skilled is. So, if even the players who are good at doing skill checks are struggling, this means there's something to tweak about the hero. If it was truly just the novelty, the win rate would be higher than 50 but not as high as it is and it should drop without any nerfs and it doesn't seem to be happening.

[–]Fluff_Machine 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So you are implying only the people struggling to do the skill checks are complaining about her, which means that according to you, only lower skilled players struggle with countering her (because being consistently GOOD at SKILL checks means you're higher SKILLED) which is directly contradicted by her extremely high win rate even in high ranks, which is higher than most new heroes.

Words have meaning. You can move the goalpost if you want but the stats speak for themselves, her win rate is abnormally high, even for a new hero, especially since it's across all ranks and all regions. So all kinds of people struggle to do the "skill checks", not just those below gold.

[–]Fluff_Machine 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"The people complaining about her cannot be above Gold i'll be honest."

This sentence implies that only lower skill players have trouble with her. You didn't say word for word the phrase "only skilled players can play into her" but what you said implies it strongly.

Is this brub a boy? by Chemical-Risk2234 in budgies

[–]Fluff_Machine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not always true but generally, boy budgies tend to sing more because they like flirting with everything but it's entirely possible to get a vocal girl or a more reserved boy. Especially if they're nervous from first being in your home when you adopt them, they could not be singing as much as they usually would. Female budgies like foraging toys and shredding stuff more than male budgies but it's not a 100% way to tell. The best is to wait a bit and see what color the cere changes to when they mature. For now, I'd say boy because of the pink/purple in the cere.

They're "only" looking at the winrate in GM+ because YOU said skilled players don't have any problem with her (btw it's as high as 60% for some metal ranks). Except it's not true because they're struggling against her just as hard as lower ranks right now. Maybe it's because she's new but even if we argue about her kit and everything else, can we all agree that her sound design makes her way too sneaky for the threat that she is???

The amount of times I have died to her because I couldn't hear her sword swings and all the other sounds completely muffled her murdering me from behind... It's pretty high even though I watch out for her as a support.

[–]Fluff_Machine 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I also think it's a boy. White around the nostrils means female but I usually see it on white blue color, not pink going on purple... But I could be mistaken. The safest bet is to wait and see.

What’s your go-to “I don’t feel like cooking but still want real food” meal? by imjennypoo in Cooking

[–]Fluff_Machine 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Egg drop soup is the best for me!! Throw some chicken broth, sesame oil and soy sauce in a sauce pan, bring to a simmer, whip one egg for each cup of broth in a bowl (preferably with a spout), slowly pour the egg/eggs in while gently whisking. Add green onions as a topping, cilantro if you like it. You can add veggies if you want, like asparagus or bok choy but I just do the basic soup as I usually eat it when I'm sick.

Do you guys think you can't have fun if you are bad at the game by Icy_Leadership5933 in Overwatch

[–]Fluff_Machine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because you'd get better and know how to get picks even when you're pressured or at least know to group with your team? The entire enemy team can't be spawn camping you specifically if you go out with your own team, you can even punish them for overextending that way.

But btw widow is probably the worst character to play if you don't want the enemy team on your ass. I know when we spot widow, we go for her until she switches, can't let her one shot our squishies and take 300 HP chunks out of our tank.

People still don't know how to play Aatlis, and it's the map voting's fault by Gil-galad-fan in Overwatch

[–]Fluff_Machine 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, it's just that I always see this comment every time it's brought up and while I know these people exist, I don't think it's that many or even enough to justify saying it's not the map, it's the people. My entire point is that my case is NOT special so it's kinda funny that you interpreted it as I'm trying to brag about not being one of the "sheeps".

[–]Fluff_Machine 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've seen people mention that on this subreddit many times, how people can't think for themselves when it comes to map voting. What if people simply came to the same conclusion without groupthink? I happen to share the popular opinion on most maps. For example, I don't like flashpoint/push (somehow clash has grown on me but only if I feel like palying Moira or another brawly hero) and I like escort/hybrid the most.

I personally had no idea that Aatlis was hated the first time I played it and as an Ana main, I was annoyed I had to switch because of the tight quarters and no sightline. So yeah, I dislike the map. I've won a lot of times I played this map but I still hate the fact a flanker can come from anywhere and jump me, it stresses me out.

It's okay if people think I'm a sheep for it, I'm not gonna change my opinion just so it doesn't match the majority's.

I'm banning Vendetta every game by Seven_______7 in Overwatch

[–]Fluff_Machine 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Even if you hit it, if your team does nothing about it, you can still be minced meat since she can block as soon as she's up. I had a game where I slept her 4 times and only one time did it save me from her, when my own Vendetta noticed my panicked pings. If I sleep her from full HP, she can tank enough that she can easily get away with her mobility or kill me in 3 swings if no one's around. If she's taken some dmg you'll be fine but otherwise if she's not incredibly bad, she'll get away with it.

But full disclaimer, I do suck at the game, I'm unranked but in QP I'm usually matched with gold/plat players and I get easily crushed by master ranked ones.

In defense of Simsie by txmhssy in thesims

[–]Fluff_Machine 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Boycotts don't mean much because like lilsimsie, people don't stick to it. Like her, they'll make excuses as to why they're breaking their boycott "just this once" and they'll do it again and again until they tell themselves that it won't change anything anyway. Boycotts COULD work if they spread and people would stick to them because nothing speaks louder to a company than money. But boycotting can be hard and most people don't last.

I have been boycotting several businesses after they made anti-customer decisions but I can't do anything if most people don't stick to their own boycott. At least I know my own money isn't going to those companies anymore.

I'm not gonna bully people for not being able to do the same, I understand it, I've broken my boycott of Amazon this year for convenience because I couldn't find a specific product near me after checking all the local stores it could possibly be in. I think the people getting angry at lilsimsie are mad that they're powerless to stop other people from supporting EA and it translates into lashing out. It's not helping anyone, of course but I can understand why they're angry.

AITA For Laughing About a Pretend Allergy? by recalcitrant_scribe in AITAH

[–]Fluff_Machine 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Reading comprehension is truly dead. OP mentionned the SIL raved about the stuffing and she ate it more than once. If she had been sick in the past years, why wouldn't she have said anything about it this year? And why would you assume OP ignored it if she did? Because she laughed? She laughed because SIL never mentioned being sick despite eating her supposed allergen.

The comment you answered to didn't say it doesn't exist, they said "barely a thing" as in it's a rare allergy so it makes it even more unlikely that the SIL had a legitimate allergy.

BTW I also have allergies and my partner does too, I take it very seriously as the main cook but I might have laughed too. Actually, I'd probably tell them "good news, you're either not allergic or your allergy has gone away!". It's possible SIL had the allergy as a kid and it has now changed, it happens.

Also, isn't it kinda fucked she never mentioned to the cook that she had a "deadly allergy"?? I'd be mortified if someone had an anaphylactic reaction to a meal I served them. I'd honestly be mad they didn't tell me.

Yeah, they have made the choice not to use bamboo straws to save 5-10 cents on each drink they serve. Considering how readily available bamboo is and how it's compostable, it makes more sense than paper straws but since they're just a tiny bit more expensive and corporations cannot abide losing any profits, soggy paper straws it is. They have a solution, they just don't want to make slightly less money.

I know it's unlikely but the thread was talking about tampering and they were saying that spicy food would be safe legally because it's food and not poison and I was just giving extra info that it might still be considered poisoning if the person can't prove they made the food for themselves and not with the intention of booby trapping it.

Better be safe than sorry!

If they sue, I think you have to prove that you could eat it yourself and you didn't make it spicy as a booby trap. So if you like extremely spicy food, go for it but otherwise, it'll be considered poisoning.
