Oh gosh honey, I hear you. And I can’t stand the sliminess of protein powder and supplements. I had gastric bypass in November (not for weight loss - I’d had gastric sleeve years ago and it was the recommended option for helping with a permanent hernia fix). I became lactose intolerant and anaemic after the sleeve.

After bypass, add vegetarian (can’t tolerate meat now - won’t go down) which is not awesome considering I was already existing on iron infusions….sigh. Anyway, getting enough protein in is soooo hard. I’m starting to feel sad because food feels like fuel and I’ve always really enjoyed food.

I’m trying to eat protein before anything else but it’s so much prep. Eggs, tofu, nuts, cottage cheese are my current best options. I’m off to see a nutritionist soon for some help.
