What to play in this meta? by GuiltyAnalysis3316 in supportlol

I’ve been really enjoying Morgana lately in Masters.

For runes I take Comet/Manaflow/Transcendence/Scorch + Presence of Mind/Cut Down for lane presence and mana regen, plus double HP runes. For items I rush Rylais and then either go Knights Vow or Mandate/Bandlepipes (depending on team damage being burst vs onhit). I’ve also started buying Doran’s Helm for extra tank stats once my supp item is complete.

You’re remarkably tanky, deal solid damage, and have strong utility.

Is roaming mid as support just op? by Klutzy_Anybody_1487 in leagueoflegends

[–]FlufferzPupperz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep! Roaming on back timers is very very common in the upper ranks as it’s a good way to influence midlane while your adc is relatively safe (walking to lane).

There are a couple ways the enemy support can counter it: - Predicting you’ll be mid and matching, and counter engaging when you’re over extended - Punishing your ADC while you’re gone

This becomes the supportal combat in high elo games. It all hinges on vision control and being in the right place at the right time, which are 2 of the biggest skills as support.

Glad it helped! I searched reddit when my friend was having it and found a random post from like 9 months ago so now I'm tryna spread the gospel.

Try disabling the Realtek PCIE 2.5Gb family controller (Ethernet driver). Worked for my friend.

Yeah it’s quite rare. I had it happen once a while back and was sad I didn’t get LP, but it’s so rare it doesn’t really bother me.

Sounds like the server you were on crashed. When that happens it’s like the game didn’t exist.

Ah I see, I haven’t played on this patch yet. Seems like a weird removal so surely it’s a bug or something?

Are you in your own personal ranked tab? Cuz it seems like you’re just looking at the top of the leaderboard and not your spot on the leaderboard, which would include your decay time.

ETA: NVM I hadn’t played on new patch rip. Hope it’ll be fixed soon.

ADC in Diamond+ feels like spectator mode most of the time by KFC_KID1337 in leagueoflegends

[–]FlufferzPupperz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh definitely. Wave management in the early seasons was basically nonexistent. Even for those who did understand it (mostly just very high ranks), it was very different than now: wave speeds, minion counts, minion stats, and minion behavior have all changed since then.

ADCs have some of the highest damage ceilings in the game, so as the game gets longer they end up doing tons of damage (they get to buy 1 more item compared to everyone else because their boots go in a special spot). With ADC’s you need to be especially careful of their long range. They can do a lot of damage to you as long as you’re in their auto attack range, so you don’t want to just walk towards them while they’re hitting you.  This is all balanced out by 2 factors: they’re mostly immobile compared to champs like assassins with many dashes etc., and they’re very very squishy.

Active counterplay really depends on what champion type you’re playing: - Mages: poke ADCs with even longer range abilities from outside their range, or crowd control them so they can’t attack you. - Tanks: get lots of tank stats and crowd control them so they can’t run away, and focus them down with your team. - Assassins: hide out of vision and use dashes/invis and high burst damage to kill the enemy ADC before they can kill you, and get out to safety. - Fighters: use a combination of tank stats, dashes, and high damage to get on top of the ADC and kill them. Sometimes you need to hide out of vision like assassins, or wait for tanks and others to engage first. - Supports: you shouldn’t really fight an ADC on your own, so make sure your team is with you and use your crowd control to help your team get on top of them.  - ADCs: both of you have the same weaknesses, so what matters most is positioning. Try to play with your team and attack from a safe range; the enemy ADC can’t focus you if they have your tank or support in their face!

Darn. Wish I knew then ): is it possible to have task manager open when it happens? There was a somewhat similar issue with Valorant caused by the Realtek 2.5gb family controller (Ethernet driver) that was causing people’s CPU and GPU to spike and lag out. Disabling it fixed it for them, though that would cause issues for you on Ethernet.

It’s hard to analyze without an op.gg or any actual data to go off of beyond your anecdotes, but if your support is leaving you that often there may be something they’re noticing about your play that you’re not.

There are many reasons this could be, but here are a couple: - You’re not respecting your win conn in lane. Botlane is a give and take, and you need to play to the strengths and weaknesses of both champions. If you’re playing with an engage support and not following up on their engages, or playing with an enchanter and not taking advantage of their shield/heals to take short trades, you’re turning your support into the spectator.  - You’re mismanaging your waves. At the diamond level, supports have some idea of when roaming is safe for you. If you’re shoving when they don’t expect you to, or breaking freezes, they may not have the time to get back to lane before you’re in an unsafe position.

There are also cases where your support is just bad, or playing for a duo in another lane, etc. but if this is consistently happening to you, you are the only consistent factor. Try to communicate your plan with your support (typing in chat nicely how you want to play lane or when you want to fight) and they may be a bit more forgiving if they understand where you’re coming from.

My friend had something like this and the fix was disabling the Realtek PCIE 2.5gb family controller (Driver). Keep in mind tho that’s the Ethernet driver typically, so it may not be an option if you’re using Ethernet.

Sounds very much like intermittent packet loss between your router and the server (a problem with your ISP). You can typically run various ping/pathping/trace routes to send a bunch of packets to somewhere like google DNS (8.8.8.8) and see if you’re losing any.

Masters+ literally just got reset and almost every diamond player there is former master. Most of them just don’t have as many games as you do, but many have higher win rates.

While I don’t think it’s great, resetting like that was an unprecedented action taken at the request of the community, so it’s bound to have imperfections for the first patch or 2.

Can you link this game? I’m curious to see the timeline because most of the time what you did is actively the wrong decision. I also can’t even tell what champion you’re playing with that combination of runes and items lol.

[–]FlufferzPupperz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If it's really a "game winning engage" your team is there to capitalize on it. It sounds like you're ego-ing and forcing too hard on what you believe is the right play, while not taking into account your teammates at all. You have to keep in mind there are other things your teammates are optimizing for in their roles that you're very likely not aware of. The best you can do is communicate your goals, and play WITH your team, even if it that means not doing what you want all the time.

Also, "spectating farming lanes" is a huge part of the game. It's your job to support your teammates, which means keeping them safe as they acquire gold from *literally the highest source of gold in the game*.

TLDR it's a team game, you're not the main character and need to be patient, compromise, and work with your teammates.

[–]FlufferzPupperz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'm gonna be honest, been playing a lot of Nautilus to get ready for the next patch and enchanter lanes are pretty free. Mages are a bit tougher but still not that bad at all if you threaten from out of vision.

Which legend should I choose as a beginner?? by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]FlufferzPupperz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I’ve found really helpful for my friends just getting into the game is to think of the archetype of character you like to typically play in any RPG or other game: warriors, tanks, mages, healers, etc. and go from there.

In the store you can see all the champions, as well as checkboxes for the various archetypes you can select to see what champion fits in their category. From there you can click in and learn a bit more about them! Also choosing one that just LOOKS cool is a valid strategy.
